Yellowstone Sequel Confirms New Title & Reveals First Look At Beth & Rip’s New Life

Fans finally have a first glimpse of the new series following Beth and Rip from the world of Yellowstone, and we now know its official title. It’s been a year since the original Yellowstone series concluded on Paramount Network. Even with Kevin Costner leaving the show under difficult circumstances, it continues to be a hit, leading to plans for two spin-offs: one centered on Kayce, and this one focusing on Beth and Rip.

As Yellowstone neared its conclusion, Sheridan quickly began developing a sequel series for Beth and Rip. Following the return of the Dutton ranch to the Broken Rock Reservation, the couple purchased a farm in Dillon, Montana, and will be building their new life there – along with their son, Carter. While a premiere date hasn’t been announced, Paramount has begun promoting the new show.

As a big fan of Yellowstone, I was really excited to see a new ad during the Golden Globes! CBS gave us a first look at the upcoming show starring Beth and Rip. Originally, it was supposedly going to be called The Dutton Ranch, but Taylor Sheridan has simplified it to just Dutton Ranch. The promo was fantastic – we got to see Cole Hauser and Kelly Reilly riding horses and looking genuinely happy on a beautiful, sunny day. It definitely has me even more hyped for the spin-off!

Notably, the Marshals series, like 6666, also simplified its title by removing the initial “Y” branding. Although a small change, this is seen as a move to separate the spin-off from the main Yellowstone show, especially with Taylor Sheridan planning to move to NBCUniversal in the near future. Removing “The” from Dutton Ranch, however, doesn’t affect the story or the production itself.

Honestly, the fact they’re still using the name “Dutton” feels a little strange. It almost seems like this new show is playing into the connection with Yellowstone, rather than trying to distance itself. And it makes sense when you think about Beth and Rip – they were always John Dutton III’s most devoted followers. Through everything Kevin Costner’s character faced, those two always had his back, even when it put them in danger too. They were truly his proteges.

Ed Harris will join the cast of the new Yellowstone spinoff, playing Everett McKinney, a friendly and experienced veterinarian. It’s unclear whether his character will become an ally or enemy to Beth and Rip, but the initial preview suggests they’re continuing to enjoy the peaceful life they’ve worked so hard to build. However, the show hints that this tranquility won’t last forever.
