Yet Another Live Service Game Bites the Dust, But PS5 Players Get a Full Refund

Do you remember the game King of Meat? It came out on PlayStation 5 last October, but it’s now been taken off digital stores and will be completely shut down in April.

This game, published by Amazon Game Studios, is a cooperative experience you can only play online. Teams of up to four players work together to explore dungeons created by other players. Expect unpredictable traps and fast-paced, chaotic battles!

It was clear pretty quickly that this game wasn’t going to be a success. Soon after it launched, reports surfaced that the developers, Glowmade Games, were very disappointed with how few people were playing it.

The game didn’t sell well on Steam, so it’s not surprising Amazon has decided to cancel it.

Good news for anyone who bought King of Meat on PS5 or any other system! It looks like we’re all getting a full refund in the next few weeks. I saw the announcement on the game’s official website, so it’s legit!

Although Glowmade put a lot of creative effort and new ideas into King of Meat, the game hasn’t attracted as many players as we expected. Because of this, we’ve made the tough choice to stop supporting the game, and its servers will be shut down on April 9, 2026.

You can still play the game and access everything it offers for now, so we hope you’ll enjoy your last moments with the community.

Amazon’s attempt to become a game publisher and developer hasn’t been successful. Their large-scale online game, New World, will be shut down in January.
