One secret Leighton Meester and Adam Brody will always tell?

They really enjoy supporting each other’s achievements. That’s why the *Gossip Girl* actress was with Adam at the 2025 Emmy Awards, where he was up for the award for best leading actor in a comedy series thanks to his role in *Nobody Wants This*.

Leighton Meester and Adam Brody looked fantastic on their date night at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on September 14th. Leighton wore a beautiful pink Prada outfit with Jared Atelier diamonds, and Adam matched her in a light blue tuxedo with a ruffled shirt. Leighton is celebrating Adam’s nomination-he’s up for an award with Seth Rogen, Jeremy Allen White, Martin Short, and Jason Segel-at the ceremony hosted by Nate Bargatze. She’s also celebrating this special occasion with the people she’s working with now.

She’s joining the cast of *Nobody Wants This* for its second season, which premieres October 23rd. The show has also been nominated for several Emmys, including Best Comedy Series and Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for Kristen Bell.

Oh my gosh, you guys, Leighton Meester is going to be in the new movie! I’m SO excited! She’s playing Abby, and get this – Abby used to torment Kristin Davis’s character, Joanne, when they were kids! Can you even imagine?! It’s perfect casting. And it’s amazing to see Leighton balancing everything – being a mom to Arlo, who’s 10, and her little 5-year-old son with Adam, and *still* taking on awesome roles like this! I seriously can’t wait to see her as Abby!

The show’s creator, Erin Foster, told TopMob News in May that they developed a really enjoyable character. They initially discussed the idea with Adam, who enthusiastically encouraged them to approach the actress, believing she’d be perfect for the role. The actress was immediately enthusiastic and Foster considers her a talented, yet often overlooked, comedian.

Adam is accustomed to working alongside his wife – they’ve appeared together in several projects, including *The Oranges*, *Life Partners*, *Single Parents*, and their latest, *Wild River*. But even with all that experience, he still enjoys when they’re both listed on the filming schedule.

Brody recently told Deadline that filming scenes with his co-star felt like he was simply watching a masterclass. He described himself as a fortunate observer, always thrilled and delighted by her performance.

I just love it when our families come to visit – it’s wonderful having both sides of our lives come together. You meet everyone from work, the kids, spouses… it’s always a good time, even without the acting part. But being able to perform *with* people my partner has genuinely connected with – some she knew before, but especially those she’s gotten close to while making this show – that makes it extra special. It creates such a warm and welcoming atmosphere, honestly.
