I just got a first look at some images from the new Prime Video series, Young Sherlock, and it seems our detective is in some kind of trouble with the law! ScreenRant shared the pics, and it definitely looks like he’s facing some legal issues. It’s got me really intrigued to see how they’ll play that out.
A photo from our upcoming Spring TV preview shows Sherlock Holmes, played by Hero Fiennes Tiffin, and James Moriarty, played by Dónal Finn, standing near a wanted poster… for Sherlock! The poster accuses him of being a fugitive wanted for murder and theft. Although Moriarty is usually Sherlock’s enemy, the preview hints that they were actually friends earlier in their lives.
The second image shows Sherlock holding a large clock while in a library. He’s standing between his nemesis, Moriarty, and his older brother, Mycroft Holmes, who is portrayed by Max Irons. Mycroft is a government official and also co-founded the exclusive London club known as The Diogenes Club.

I’m really excited about the new Prime Video series, Young Sherlock! It’s a fresh take on the classic detective, showing us what Sherlock Holmes was like in his early years. Apparently, it focuses on him as a 19-year-old student at Oxford, and the very first case he ever tackles. It’s not just a simple mystery either – he gets wrongly accused of a murder and has to solve it to prove his innocence. But that’s just the beginning, because the investigation quickly leads him to uncover a huge, worldwide conspiracy – one that’s way bigger than he could have imagined!
I’m really excited about this new mystery thriller! It’s been adapted for TV by Matthew Parkhill, and Guy Ritchie is directing and executive producing – that’s a fantastic combination. The cast is incredible too, featuring Zine Tseng, Joseph Fiennes, Natascha McElhone, and the always brilliant Colin Firth. Plus, Tiffin, Finn, and Irons are all involved, so it’s shaping up to be something special!
The show draws inspiration from the book series Young Sherlock Holmes by Arthur Lane. The series consists of eight novels: Death Cloud, Rebel Fire, Black Ice, Fire Storm, Snake Bite, Knife Edge, Stone Cold, and Night Break.
Young Sherlock will release on Prime Video on March 4, 2026.
