Streaming services are constantly losing and gaining shows and movies, but it’s especially disappointing when a truly great adaptation of a comic book series disappears without a clear plan for where it will be available next. That’s the situation with this fantastic trilogy, which will soon be removed from its current streaming platform.
Okay, fellow movie lovers, heads up! The Dark Knight trilogy is leaving Tubi soon, so if you want to revisit Gotham City with Christian Bale, now’s the time. Seriously, these movies are considered some of the best comic book adaptations ever, and I don’t want anyone to miss out. For those who need a little convincing, Batman Begins still scores an impressive 85% on Rotten Tomatoes, The Dark Knight is even higher at 94%, and The Dark Knight Rises isn’t too shabby with 87%. Get watching before they disappear!
This Trilogy Stands The Test Of Time
Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight trilogy presents a classic take on the Batman story. It follows Bruce Wayne, a wealthy young man who becomes Batman to fight the rising crime in his city. He’s aided by trusted allies like his butler Alfred (Michael Caine), police commissioner Jim Gordon (Gary Oldman), and tech expert Lucius Fox (Morgan Freeman). The trilogy features battles against Batman’s most famous foes, including the Joker, Two-Face, and Bane. The films are also known for outstanding performances, notably Heath Ledger’s legendary Joker and Tom Hardy’s portrayal of Bane.
Both critics and general audiences praise the Batman trilogy as one of director Christopher Nolan’s finest works. Jess Lomas of Quickflix notes that Batman Begins feels remarkably fresh even today, especially considering the current landscape of superhero films constantly trying to outdo each other with special effects. Martin Carr of CBR praises The Dark Knight for grounding its characters in a realistic world, portraying Gotham as a city filled with human failings, which he believes sets it apart from other superhero movies and redefines the genre. Juan Pablo Russo of EscribiendoCine highlights how The Dark Knight Rises successfully reinvented Batman, modernizing the character and transforming him into a believable vigilante.
Christopher Nolan’s Batman films are often considered the definitive version of the superhero’s story, and with good reason. While they aren’t flawless and occasionally feel slow, they’re the movies that come to mind for most people when they picture Batman.
