Zach Cregger’s new Resident Evil movie aims to offer a fresh perspective for fans of the video game series. Cregger, the director of the upcoming 2025 film Weapons, is a rising star in Hollywood with many projects in development, but his take on the zombie story is his current focus. The movie, which will be released in theaters later this year, won’t be a direct continuation of previous Resident Evil films.
Oliver Berben, CEO of Constantin Film, recently spoke with Deadline about the upcoming Resident Evil movie, which is currently being finalized. He confirmed that director Zach Cregger is taking the franchise in a completely new direction. While Berben didn’t reveal any specifics about the plot, he hinted that it will be very different from previous Resident Evil installments, reflecting Cregger’s unique creative vision.
More to come.
