007 First Light Gameplay Trailer Delves Into International Espionage in Vietnam

Do you remember the trailer for the upcoming 007 game, First Light, where Bond traveled to an island under the name St. John Smythe – a nod to the film A View to Kill? Dominic Vega, who directs audio and missions for the game, recently showed off some new gameplay. It revealed the game’s Vietnam setting and highlighted some classic international spy action.

Bond arrives at the Pearl resort for a mix of work and relaxation. His mission: to secretly attach tracking devices, called Q-Traks, to three people – Theresa Lorca, Ramon Hernandez, and Ellis White. He finds Theresa Lorca unwinding in the Serenity Space, reviewing papers, and the area is currently full, making it difficult to approach.

The solution? Use a Phone Dart to make one of the patrons sick and take their place. Of course, despite wanting to apply the Q-Trak and be done with it, James opts for a roundabout approach – increasing the fan speed to blow away the documents, and catch Lorca off-guard.

The game ends at this point, but the various resort locations – like hotel rooms and yoga studios – suggest they might be used when pursuing other targets. The key now is figuring out how many different ways players will have to complete Bond’s missions.

The new game, 007 First Light, will be available on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC starting May 27th. Players who purchase the Deluxe Edition will get early access beginning May 26th. However, preloading the game is currently only possible on PlayStation.
