Even though IO Interactive might not be making more direct sequels, they’re continuing to add to 007 First Light. At Summer Game Fest, the developers shared their plans for after the game’s release, including new challenges and improvements to the TacSim system.
And there’s more: Bond is heading back to Aleph at Bawma’s invitation. Bawma has something potentially significant, and a gold bullet suggests it could be connected to the legendary Golden Gun.
In addition to the new mission, players can expect several updates, including improved graphics on PC with Path Tracing, a new gadget for the G2 Glasses, and a New Game+ mode for the story campaign. A Photo Mode is also coming soon, along with a special reward for those who added the game to their wishlist, and a celebration on James Bond Day.
A Nintendo Switch 2 version is planned, but it’s unclear if it will be released this summer as initially expected. The developers at IOI want to make sure the game runs well on the new system, and that might mean it takes a bit longer to finish.
We’ll share release dates for future updates as soon as we have them. Currently, 007 First Light is available on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC, and has already sold over 1.5 million copies. You can read our review – we gave it a 9/10 – here.
