Infinity Ward has officially revealed Modern Warfare 4, the latest Call of Duty game. It promises a fresh take on the series with more lifelike shooting, innovative ways to move, and a continuing story from the Modern Warfare universe.
The latest installment in the series takes place on the Korean Peninsula, where North Korea has invaded the South. Players will follow a young group of soldiers as they struggle to survive the conflict.
The game will launch with a marketing campaign and a revamped multiplayer experience, building on what players enjoyed in recent Call of Duty: Modern Warfare titles. It will also introduce a new DMZ mode, aiming to deliver the ultimate extraction-shooter experience.
Will these game modes be available through Xbox Game Pass? Here’s the latest information on when you can play.
MW4 on Xbox Game Pass Explained
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 won’t be available on Xbox Game Pass when it first comes out. This is the first Call of Duty game in several years – since Black Ops 6 – not to be included with the subscription service right away. It will be added to Game Pass about a year after it launches.
Microsoft hasn’t seen the expected increase in subscribers after adding Call of Duty games to its service. Because of this, they lowered the price of Ultimate and PC subscriptions in April, but as a result, future Call of Duty titles will no longer be included.

Simply put, you’ll need to buy the game to play it. You can find all the details about pre-ordering it here.
