007 First Light Sells 2.7 Million Units in First Week

IO Interactive announced that their new action-adventure game, 007 First Light, sold 2.7 million copies in its first week after launching on May 27th for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC. It had a strong start, selling 1.5 million copies within the first 24 hours.

This achievement is even more remarkable given the game’s moderate popularity on Steam. While it has a very positive 91% rating from over 10,000 user reviews, the PC version only reached a peak of 71,000 concurrent players, and that was several days ago. This suggests most sales are happening on consoles, which isn’t surprising given how smoothly the game runs on Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5.

Plus, the game’s exciting action sequences and environments, reminiscent of the Uncharted series, should please PlayStation players who’ve been hoping for a new adventure. And there’s more to come – IO Interactive plans to add new challenges, rewards, and a New Game+ mode for the story, along with a new mission centered around Bawma, as part of their Year 1 content plan.

Gamers hoping for the new Nintendo Switch 2 title will need to wait until later this summer, but the delay could mean an even more polished and feature-rich game. We’ll keep you updated on its progress, and you can read our review of the PC version now to get a taste of what to expect.

We’re thrilled to announce that 2.7 million copies have been sold in the first week! Thank you so much for your incredible support – we couldn’t have done it without you. Get yours now and join the movement! bit.ly/007FirstLigh… #007FirstLight
