
IO Interactive recently shared a new development update for their game, 007 First Light, and announced another delay – but only for the Nintendo Switch 2 version. The game is still on schedule to release for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC. However, Switch 2 players will have to wait until “later this Summer” to play.
IOI didn’t explain the exact reason for the delay, but stated they’re working to deliver the best possible game experience on all platforms.
This news isn’t surprising for those following the development of games like Borderlands 4. Originally planned for the Switch 2, its development was paused, reportedly because it had been difficult to get working for several months.
There’s also Starfield from Bethesda, which was once expected to come to the platform but then seemed put on hold. Recent news suggests it’s still being developed, though the process hasn’t been easy. With the team working on Free Lanes, Terran Armada, and the PlayStation 5 version, it’s possible they’ve taken on too much at once.
I’m really excited about 007 First Light coming to the Switch 2, but it sounds like we’ll have to be patient for more info on that version. The good news is, if you’re on other platforms, you can play it starting May 27th!
