10 Anime Coming to Netflix in May 2026

Netflix has announced its anime lineup for May, and while only two new series are being added, fans can look forward to the return of some incredibly popular titles. April saw the arrival of several new shows like Dandelion from the creator of Gintama and season two of Dorohedoro. Although May doesn’t feature many brand-new series, Netflix is bringing back some all-time favorites.

Just before April finishes, What’s on Netflix shared a list of shows coming to the platform in May. Many of these are popular titles, making this one of the most anticipated releases of 2026 so far.

10) Assassination Classroom Season 1

I’m so hyped for the new anime! Right now, only the first season is officially set to premiere on May 1st, 2026, but insiders are saying we won’t have to wait long for the next part – it should be out before summer hits! Honestly, Assassination Classroom has been a top-tier action series for nearly 11 years, and the fact that the whole story is contained within just two seasons makes it an amazing show to just sit down and watch all at once. Seriously, you won’t regret it!

9) Detective Conan Season 3

Although this series is much more popular in Japan than in Western countries, its recent translation and release are starting to attract attention elsewhere. With over 1200 episodes, it’s a very long-running show, so Netflix is releasing it gradually in seasons. The first two seasons are currently available to stream, and Season 3 will be added on May 1st, 2026.

8) One Piece: Whole Cake Island Part 4

I’m so excited – One Piece is finally getting the streaming treatment it deserves! It’s a huge series, and unlike some others, we’re not too far behind the Japanese release. Right now, you can already watch the Egghead Island and Elbaph Arcs, and they’re steadily adding more episodes in groups. They’ve announced that another 12 episodes from the Whole Cake Island arc will be available on May 15th, 2026, which is fantastic news for fans like me!
