10 Children of Marvel Superheroes

In Marvel Comics, family has consistently been a prominent theme, with many of its superheroes also being parents. This role, already challenging in normal circumstances, becomes even more intricate when saving the world is part of the routine. Given their parents’ extraordinary abilities and obligations, these children are far from ordinary. They often face issues ranging from neglect by their powerful parents to confrontations with supervillains. Frequently, these children inherit their parents’ powers, with some even surpassing them in strength. Some choose to follow their parents’ heroic paths, while others seek personal gain instead. Regardless of their choices, they are the progeny of Marvel’s most illustrious superheroes.

In simpler terms, Marvel’s superheroes work towards creating a brighter tomorrow, and these children will be the ones to receive this future we strive for.

1) Powerhouse and Brainstorm

The offspring of Reed Richards and Sue Storm, Franklin and Valeria, exhibit remarkable promise at their young age. Known respectively as Powerhouse and Brainstorm, Franklin’s abilities are nothing short of extraordinary – he’s one of the universe’s most powerful beings due to his mutant ability to reshape reality as desired and even generate new universes, which he can manipulate like a deity. On the other hand, Valeria, despite not having her brother’s divine mutant powers, boasts an intelligence that rivals her father’s, making her one of the planet’s smartest individuals. With time, it’s even speculated that she may outshine him intellectually. Reed and Sue have thus nurtured Marvel’s future generation’s most robust and intelligent superheroes.

2) Cable

Nathan Summers, the son of Cyclops and Jean Grey’s clone Madelyne Prior, was infected with a techno-organic virus by the villain Apocalypse. To save their son, Cyclops and Madelyne sent him to a future where they believed there would be a cure. However, unbeknownst to them, the future Nathan arrived in was a nightmarish dystopia ruled by Apocalypse. In this world, Nathan grew into a fierce rebel, fighting against Apocalypse’s regime. Determined to change the course of history, Nathan traveled back to the present to prevent this dystopia from happening. Like his parents, Nathan is an extremely powerful mutant with telepathic and telekinetic abilities that can affect the entire planet. The techno-organic virus also gave him enhanced strength by making his arm and eye mechanical. Furthermore, Nathan is always equipped with advanced weapons. Now, Nathan fights in the present to create a better future for everyone.

3) Siryn

Theressa Cassidy, also known as Siryn, is the offspring of X-Men’s Banshee (Sean Cassidy), inheriting his powerful sonic scream ability. Like her father, she can manipulate sonic vibrations from her cries to achieve flight. Unfortunately, when Sean was engrossed in a long undercover operation, his wife Maeve passed away in an accident, leaving him unreachable. In his absence, Sean’s villainous cousin Black Tom Cassidy took guardianship of the newborn Theresa and raised her with malicious intentions. As she grew, Theressa found herself often at odds with the X-Men due to her upbringing by Black Tom.

However, after Black Tom was imprisoned, he disclosed to Sean the existence of his daughter. Overjoyed at finding each other, father and daughter were reunited. Since then, Theresa has been a valuable member of various mutant superhero teams such as X-Force, X-Factor, and the X-Men.

4) Hulkling

Contrary to his moniker, Teddy Altman, more famously known as Hulkling, isn’t the son of the Hulk, but rather the son of the original Captain Marvel, Mar-Vell. Born from the union of Kree superhero Mar-Vell and Skrull princess Anelle, Teddy serves as a link between two alien races with a long history of conflict. Raised by humans on Earth without knowledge of his lineage, it wasn’t until his green skin and powers of extraordinary strength and shape-shifting emerged that he joined the young superhero team, the Young Avengers. Due to his royal mixed heritage, Teddy was instrumental in bringing the Kree and Skrull Empires together, fostering peace between the two and eventually leading the Kree/Skrull Alliance. He also has half-siblings, Genis-Vell and Phyla-Vell, who both assumed the title of Captain Marvel at different points in time.

5) Legion

Charles Xavier, also known as Professor X, is among the world’s strongest mutants, but his offspring, David Haller, better known as Legion, exhibits even greater power. Classified as an Omega-Level mutant, a designation reserved for the most potent of mutants, David grapples with a debilitating dissociative identity disorder. This condition gives rise to numerous personas vying for control over his mind. Some of these personalities are benevolent, while others are malicious. Each persona possesses unique abilities, ranging from telekinesis to time-travel. Over the years, David continues to create new personas and powers, each one amplifying his might but also inflicting deeper psychological wounds. One moment he can be a hero; the next, he stands on the precipice of universal devastation. Despite being the son of the X-Men’s creator, he ultimately becomes one of their formidable foes.

6) Wiccan and Speed

In a remarkable demonstration of her abilities, Scarlet Witch (Wanda Maximoff) created two children, Billy and Tommy, seemingly out of nothingness. However, this magical creation was temporary, as the enchantment eventually faded, causing the children to vanish. The loss left a deep emotional scar on Wanda, pushing her to the brink of destroying the Multiverse in an attempt to restore them. Eventually, the spirits of Billy and Tommy were reborn as Billy Kaplan (Wiccan) and Tommy Shepherd (Speed). Wanda’s powers manifested in Billy, while super-speed was bestowed upon Tommy, mirroring those of his uncle Quicksilver. United, they became members of the Young Avengers.

7) Stinger

When Scott Lang’s daughter Cassie was born with a heart condition, Scott stepped up as the second Ant-Man to save a doctor who could help Cassie. Tragically, Scott lost his life in the process. In an attempt to honor her father and become a superhero, Cassie underwent exposure to Pym Particles and gained the power to change her size at will. She took on the name Stature and joined the Young Avengers. After her passing, Doctor Doom brought her back to life, but she lost her powers. To make up for her lost abilities, she renamed herself Stinger and acquired a suit that granted her the powers of Wasp, allowing her not only to control her height, but also to fly, fire energy blasts, and communicate with insects.

8) Viv and Vin Vision

Following Wanda’s departure, the Vision created his own mechanical family, consisting of two offspring: daughter Viv and son Vin. Both inheriting their father’s abilities such as super-strength, flight, energy manipulation, and intangibility, Vision aimed to provide them with a typical human experience by enrolling them in school. However, tragedy struck when Vin was killed by Victor Mancha, Ultron’s son. Deeply grieving over her brother’s demise, Viv chose to become a superhero to safeguard others from suffering a similar fate as hers. She eventually joined the teen superhero group, the Champions, who work together to shield the innocent from harm.

9) Skaar

In the year 2007, the Illuminati exiled the Hulk to the brutal planet Sakaar, where he was compelled to serve as a gladiator slave. After spearheading a revolution and rising to become the kind-hearted ruler of Sakaar, the Hulk wed an alien warrior named Caiera, who possessed the ability to amplify her strength by channeling cosmic energy. Tragically, an explosion claimed Caiera’s life, leaving the Hulk unaware that she was pregnant at the time of her death. Upon Caiera’s birth, he was named Skaar and brought up by an alien tribe called the Shadow People. Much like his father, Skaar is a towering, green fighting machine. Believing that his father had deserted him, Skaar ventured to Earth with the intention of avenging himself on the Hulk. However, upon discovering that his father was a hero, Skaar chose instead to emulate him. Additionally, Skaar has a twin brother named Hiro-Val, who inherited Caiera’s cosmic-based powers but lacks the raw strength of their father.

10) Talon and Daken

Logan, better known as Wolverine, has been living for more than a century and has numerous children, either through genetic manipulation, adoption, or natural means. Some of his most well-known offspring are Laura (Talon) and Akihiro (Daken). Laura, who was created in a lab by evil scientists to eliminate her father but instead chose to join the X-Men as Feral, is Logan’s genetic daughter. Akihiro, on the other hand, was born before World War II to a Japanese woman named Itsu and raised by the villain Romulus to become a ruthless assassin. Believing that his father had abandoned him, he vowed to take revenge. Both Laura and Akihiro possess Logan’s retractable claws, rapid healing ability, and savage instincts.
