10 Moments That Made The Vampire Diaries Fans Quit the Show (& Never Look Back)

This show became a fan favorite thanks to its passionate love stories and intriguing supernatural mysteries. But with eight seasons, it was a long commitment, and some viewers stopped watching before the end. While many were hooked by the relationship between Elena, Stefan, and Damon, the excitement of the show’s setting, Mystic Falls, faded for some over time, causing them to lose interest.

Kai was a dangerous killer with magical abilities, and he was determined to escape his supernatural prison, no matter the cost. While viewers initially enjoyed watching Bonnie and Damon trapped in this world, interest waned when Bonnie was unexpectedly left behind. Damon found a way out relatively quickly, but Bonnie’s escape felt forced and unsatisfying.

Bonnie endured horrific torture while Kai watched, and then she was left completely alone until she felt hopeless. There seemed to be no good reason for inflicting so much suffering on her character, and it felt intentional. The plan, carefully arranged with Sheriff Forbes, was for Damon to come back from the Other Side using Bonnie’s abilities as an Anchor. But when Elena found out, she insisted on joining him in the car, believing she would be able to return as well.

The gesture was meant to demonstrate their love, but Bonnie found it pointless and hurtful. Katherine Surviving The Cure And Silas’ Attack Was Too Much
