10 Most Powerful Contestants in DC’s K.O. Tournament, Ranked (& Who Will Win)

DC Comics is finally starting a massive tournament to decide the fate of the entire multiverse! Called DC K.O., the event will see DC’s most powerful heroes and villains battling for ultimate power. The incredibly powerful Darkseid has returned and become more dangerous than ever. To defeat him, heroes need to find the Heart of Apokolips – a machine powered by the same Omega Energy that makes Darkseid so strong. A brutal tournament will determine who gets the Heart, and only the strongest of the 32 fighters will win.

This list ranks the fighters in the DC K.O. tournament based on how much damage they can inflict. It includes even those who were eliminated early, because the rankings are based on their overall power and best accomplishments, not just how well they did in the tournament itself.

10) Firestorm

Firestorm is a unique hero formed when Ronnie Raymond and Professor Stein merged, essentially becoming a living nuclear reactor. He can release incredibly powerful blasts of energy and absorb more into himself. His greatest strength is the ability to change matter at its most basic level – even creating things like armor, a Kryptonite cage, or trapping enemies in amber. Beyond that, Firestorm has super strength, can fly, and even become intangible. However, he can’t change how much ‘stuff’ is in an object, which limits what he can build. Also, the constant arguing between Ronnie and Professor Stein inside Firestorm’s mind can be a major distraction, making it hard for him to use his full potential.

9) Green Lantern

Guy Gardner stands alone as the sole Green Lantern competing in the tournament. Though often reckless, he’s consistently demonstrated incredible toughness within the Green Lantern Corps. His unwavering willpower powers his ring, allowing him to create virtually anything he can envision. He’s easily destroyed massive starships and defeated multiple Green Lanterns at once. Considered a top marksman in the Corps, Guy’s ability to instantly conjure weapons, armor, vehicles, and other powerful constructs makes him an exceptionally versatile and dangerous fighter.

8) Supergirl

Supergirl, like her cousin Superman, possesses amazing powers thanks to her Kryptonian heritage. These include super strength, speed, flight, heat vision, and freezing breath – all of which are amplified by yellow sunlight. While she doesn’t have as much experience or pure strength as Superman, she’s a very powerful and skilled fighter. She’s proven this by surviving a nuclear blast unharmed, throwing a train car into outer space, and even destroying a small moon. She’s also received expert combat training from Wonder Woman and the Amazons. Though not the strongest Kryptonian overall, Supergirl is undoubtedly one of DC Comics’ most powerful heroes.

7) Power Girl

Power Girl is essentially an alternate version of Supergirl – she’s older, more seasoned, and significantly stronger. Like Supergirl, her Kryptonian heritage gives her incredible powers. However, Power Girl consistently demonstrates greater strength and is more skilled at utilizing her abilities. She’s proven this by accomplishing feats like lifting a city-sized spaceship, defeating Supergirl in a fight, helping stabilize the moon’s orbit, even drawing blood from the powerful Darkseid, and besting alternate versions of Green Lantern and Superman. While she’s predicted to lose in the first round, similar to Supergirl, Power Girl remains an exceptionally formidable fighter and one of the strongest heroes connected to Superman.

6) Big Barda

Big Barda was trained from birth to be Apokolips’ ultimate warrior, making her one of the most powerful New Gods. Even after switching sides to join the heroic New Gods of New Genesis, she remained a fierce fighter, with strength rivaling Wonder Woman. She’s incredibly durable – she’s survived falls from space – and a skilled combatant, capable of defeating multiple of Apokolips’ strongest soldiers at once. Barda also has advanced technology, including nearly unbreakable armor and the Mega-Rod, a weapon that can teleport and unleash devastating energy blasts capable of destroying alien ships. While she’s expected to be defeated by Zatanna in their first match, Barda’s New God abilities and centuries of fighting experience still make her a dangerous opponent.

5) Lobo

Lobo is known throughout the universe as a brutally powerful and destructive force. Often battling Superman, he possesses incredible strength – capable of feats like crushing a city into a small sphere or pulling a living star with a chain. He’s also armed with planet-destroying weaponry. What truly sets him apart is his nearly limitless healing ability; he can fully regenerate from even a single drop of blood, and each drop creates another equally powerful and unhinged Lobo. Though his chaotic and villainous personality makes a tournament victory unlikely, Lobo remains a terrifying warrior who pushes his opponents to their absolute limits.

4) Wonder Woman

Wonder Woman is the most highly trained and experienced fighter in the Justice League, thanks to centuries of training by Amazonian warriors. As a demigod, she’s strong enough to battle gods and even hold her own against Superman. She’s demonstrated incredible feats of strength and speed, including moving billions of times faster than light, pulling a planet, and escaping a black hole. She even once defeated the entire Justice League while blindfolded! Removing her Bracelets of Submission dramatically increases her powers. For the upcoming tournament, she’s also equipped with the powerful God-Killer armor, making her an even more formidable opponent.

3) Captain Atom

Captain Atom is incredibly powerful because he contains a huge amount of destructive energy. Being made of pure energy himself, he’s connected to an endless source called the Quantum Field. This lets him control and absorb any kind of energy, making him strong enough to fight heroes like Superman. He can even change matter into different forms – for example, turning a weapon into a harmless toy. Captain Atom has done some amazing things, like briefly defeating Doctor Manhattan, surviving the destruction of entire planets, and even destroying and rebuilding universes. Very few heroes in the DC universe can compare to his incredible power.

2) Zatanna

Zatanna is one of DC Comics’ most powerful and adaptable magic-users. Instead of relying on physical strength, she uses incredibly potent magic to battle the most dangerous threats in the multiverse. Her powers are almost limitless, constrained only by her creativity and force of will. She can change matter, stop time, control the weather, influence minds, strip away powers, bring people back to life, and even erase individuals from existence. Zatanna has even manipulated the entire multiverse to defeat villains who could destroy everything, like Zor, Pralaya, and the Great Darkness. Because of these impressive feats, she’s a strong contender to win the tournament.

Superman is the clear favorite to win the DC K.O. tournament. As one of the most powerful characters in DC Comics, his abilities seem endless – he’s demonstrated feats like holding a black hole, traveling to the universe’s edge instantly, and surviving universe-level threats. He’s even incredibly strong, capable of lifting something with an infinite number of pages! To make him even more formidable in this tournament, he’s fighting with star-enhanced brass knuckles that significantly boost his power. Superman truly embodies truth and justice, and he represents the best chance the DC multiverse has against Darkseid.
