14 Years Later, A Major Shonen Jump Series Confirms It Will End (& Fans Still Want Season 2)

A popular manga series published in Shonen Jump is concluding after 14 years, though fans are still hoping for a second season of its anime adaptation. This marks the end of an era for Shueisha’s Jump magazines, as many of the decade’s most successful series have recently finished. With another hit manga now entering its final chapters, it seems like this wave of endings isn’t over yet.

The manga series Seraph of the End, created by Daisuke Furuya, Takaya Kagami, and Yamato Yamamoto, recently released its 36th volume in Japan. Along with the new volume, the creators announced that the series will conclude with the release of Volume 37. While the exact number of chapters remaining is unknown, it’s expected to be around 4 or 5 based on the content released so far.

Seraph of the End Manga to End With Volume 37 After 14 Years

The manga Seraph of the End is nearing its conclusion, with only about four or five months of new chapters remaining. Volume 36 includes chapters 151-155, and with chapter 156 releasing on May 1st, the series will have around three or four chapters left before it ends. After a long run, fans should prepare for the final arc to begin soon.

The series first appeared in Shueisha’s Jump SQ magazine in 2012 and has published new chapters monthly ever since. Now, it’s nearing its end, joining other popular series from the 2010s that have already finished, such as My Hero Academia, Jujutsu Kaisen (whose sequel recently concluded), and Black Clover. This marks the end of an era for Shueisha’s Jump magazines, as many of their biggest titles from the last decade are wrapping up.

Where’s Seraph of the End Season 2?

Many fans first encountered Seraph of the End through the anime series that aired in 2015. Produced by WIT Studio, it gained a following initially, but has since become less visible as the anime hasn’t had any new seasons. Currently, there are no plans for a continuation of the series, though a new season could happen once the manga finishes its story.

While Seraph of the End isn’t as widely known as some of Shueisha’s other popular series from the 2010s, longtime fans will likely be sad to see it conclude.
