2 Days After The Boys’ Finale, Soldier Boy & Stormfront Return in First Trailer for Vought Rising

Jensen Ackles is reprising his role as Soldier Boy in a new The Boys spinoff called Vought Rising, and a trailer has just been released. While Soldier Boy was key to the events of the fifth and final season – he gave Homelander the V-One compound – he wasn’t present in the very last episode. His story ended with him being put back into cryogenic freeze by his son, but this isn’t necessarily the last we’ll see of him.

Though the latest season has finished, the story isn’t over yet! The next chapter, titled Vought Rising, will explore the origins of Vought International and the very first superheroes. Set in the 1950s, it promises to reveal the shocking events behind the creation of Supes, including the early days of Soldier Boy and the return of Clara Vought, also known as Stormfront (played by Aya Cash). Vought Rising Looks Like Another Good Expansion Of The Boys’ Franchise

The trailer for Vought Rising keeps the plot mostly a secret. Instead, it introduces the original Supes – we see Mason Dye reprise his role as Bombsight (from The Boys Season 5), and meet Elizabeth Posey as Private Angel and Will Hochman as Torpedo. Both Angel and Torpedo were mentioned in The Boys, but we don’t know much about them yet.

We also see flashbacks to the V-One experiments performed on heroes and others, and the results are likely to cause major problems and, as usual in The Boys, a lot of violence. Since almost no one survived these trials, expect to see those deaths – and their horrifying consequences – play a big role in Vought’s attempts to market Supes to the world.

The show will delve deeper into Stormfront’s background and motivations – including her Nazi ideology. We’ll also see more of her unexpected and disturbing relationship with Soldier Boy, who confessed his feelings for her in Season 5, and how that twisted romance unfolds.

This new installment looks like a really enjoyable addition to the world of The Boys, offering more insight into Soldier Boy’s origins and the creation of Supes. It’s particularly interesting to see his life as Benjamin before he gained powers, and how his desire to escape his brother’s shadow played a role in his choices. While the story is set in the 1950s, it’s possible we’ll see scenes that take place after the events of The Boys, since Soldier Boy is still alive, leaving the door open to continue his story in the future.

Vought Rising will premiere on Prime Video in 2027.
