The World of Darkness started as a tabletop role-playing game (TTRPG) called Vampire: The Masquerade in 1991, created by White Wolf. It has since expanded into a large fantasy universe with horror elements. The TTRPG series itself offers many ways to experience horror, with detailed rules for playing as werewolves, hunters, ghosts, and other creatures. Several of these games have also inspired spin-off video games, with Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines being a particularly popular example. Now, two new video games set in the World of Darkness are on the way.
At the recent Nacon Connect event, the publisher shared updates on two upcoming games set in the World of Darkness universe. These aren’t related to the recently announced Vampire: The Masquerade – Oaths and Ashes. Instead, we got a better look at Hunter: The Reckoning – Deathwish, and a brand-new Werewolf: The Apocalypse game called Rageborn. Both titles will immerse players in the dark world, and Hunter: The Reckoning marks a welcome return to a fan-favorite series.
Hunter: The Reckoning – Deathwish Gets New In-Depth Reveal

This latest game in the Hunter: The Reckoning series isn’t entirely new; it was first shown earlier this year. However, today’s presentation offered a much closer look at the gameplay. The game is being made by the same team behind RoboCop: Rogue City and promises a fresh take on the classic series, which was popular on Xbox and GameCube.
The original Hunter: The Reckoning games were fast-paced, action-oriented, third-person shooters. Since the early 2000s, there haven’t been many new games based in the Hunter: The Reckoning world. While The Beast of Glenkildove, a visual novel RPG, came out last year, the upcoming Deathwish seems to be a return to the classic gameplay of the original console games, but updated for modern audiences.
Hunter: The Reckoning – Deathwish is a story-focused, first-person action RPG where players become hunters in an open-world New York City. The game will feature detailed character customization based on the tabletop RPG rules, allowing players to create a unique Hunter and playstyle. With fans long requesting a remake or remaster of the original Hunter: The Reckoning, this game could be one of the most anticipated releases in the World of Darkness in years. It’s currently scheduled to launch on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S in summer 2027.
Nacon Announces Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Rageborn for 2027

While Hunter: The Reckoning hasn’t seen many recent video game adaptations, White Wolf’s Werewolf: The Apocalypse has had a few. Still, fans will be thrilled to hear about the new Werewolf game, called Rageborn, revealed at today’s Nacon showcase. Unlike previous Werewolf games which were either visual novels or action RPGs, Rageborn is trying a different approach.
I’m really excited about Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Rageborn! It’s a top-down Metroidvania made by the team who did Session: Skate Sim, which was awesome. Basically, you play as a werewolf and can switch between human, werewolf, and full wolf forms to take on this huge, evil corporation called Pentex. It’s built using the rules from the Werewolf: The Apocalypse tabletop game, but feels like those classic action games I grew up with. From what I’ve heard, it’s going to be a tough game – you’ll really need to master all your shapeshifting abilities to survive!
Okay, so I’m really excited – Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Rageborn is currently aiming for a 2027 release on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and even the new Nintendo Switch 2! That means if everything goes smoothly, we could get two new action games set in the World of Darkness next year – awesome!
