Although HBO Max is eventually expected to join Netflix, the transition won’t happen for at least another year, so things will continue as usual for now. Starting the new year, subscribers can look forward to new movies and shows like A Most Violent Year, Constantine, John Wick, Spaceballs, and The Smashing Machine. Plus, two of HBO Max’s most popular shows are returning next week – and that’s great news!
HBO Max kicked off the new year with a bunch of new shows and movies on January 1st, and they’re adding even more over the next few days. Don’t miss the return of the popular series The Pitt on January 8th, followed by the fourth season of Industry, premiering on January 11th.
The Pitt and Industry Are Two of HBO Max’s Best For a Reason
Both The Pitt and Industry quickly attracted a dedicated fanbase thanks to their strong writing and compelling characters. Despite focusing on very different subjects, both shows have earned praise from critics and viewers alike.
The Pitt is a recently released show that’s quickly become popular. It’s known for its realistic and intense depiction of the challenges faced by healthcare workers. With a 95% rating from critics and an 87% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, the show is highly acclaimed, and the upcoming second season is expected to continue its success.
The show Industry is now in its fourth season and continues to improve with each release. It started with a 76% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, jumped to 96% in its second season, and then an impressive 98% in season three. It’s unclear if the upcoming fourth season can maintain this level of quality, but it would need to be exceptional to surpass it.
Industry follows a group of ambitious graduates competing for success at the prestigious investment bank, Pierpoint & Co. in London. Season four promises even more drama as Harper and Yasmin face new challenges in their careers and personal lives, and viewers are eager to see what happens next.
