A popular PlayStation 2 game from 2005 is making a comeback this month on both PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. Many consider 2005 to be a peak year for the PS2, with incredible titles like Shadow of the Colossus, God of War, Guitar Hero, Resident Evil 4, Dragon Quest 8, Midnight Club 3: Dub Edition, Devil May Cry 3, and Star Wars: Battlefront 2 all being released that year.
This week, PlayStation revealed plans to release Wild Arms 4 on both PS5 and PS4. Originally a popular RPG series that started on the PS1, Wild Arms 4 first came out in Japan in 2005 and in the US for PS2 in 2006. While some fans were hesitant about its departure from the series’ traditional Western style, Wild Arms 4 still earned positive feedback and has become a favorite among dedicated players.
The updated version of Wild Arms 4 arrives next week on April 21st. Like other PlayStation ports, it features improved graphics, quick save, and a rewind function. It will also be available as part of the PlayStation Plus “Classics” section for Premium subscribers. Players can also purchase the game separately on the PlayStation Store for $14.99.

The best part about the release of Wild Arms 4 is that most of the Wild Arms games are now available on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. The first three games – Wild Arms, Wild Arms 2, and Wild Arms 3 – have been playable on modern PlayStations for a few years, and now with Wild Arms 4 added, players can enjoy most of the series without needing older consoles.
Currently, only Wild Arms 5 (originally on PS2) and Wild Arms XF (from PSP) haven’t been released on PS4 and PS5. PlayStation hasn’t said if they plan to bring these games to newer consoles, but the recent re-release of Wild Arms 4 suggests they might be considering it, and we could see them arrive in the future.
