Nintendo recently launched a free Mario game, Hello, Yoshi, on the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 through the eShop, specifically designed for young children. Over time, Nintendo has become known for games that appeal to a broader audience, with fewer titles aimed at younger players. The Switch and Switch 2 also have more open eShop policies than older Nintendo consoles. That’s why Hello, Yoshi is a notable release – it’s a deliberate effort by Nintendo to create something just for kids.
A free game called Hello, Yoshi, part of the My Mario series, is now available to download for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and mobile devices. The game features Yoshi and allows players to interact with him using the touch screen. It was previously released in Japan last year, but is now available in Western regions.
5/5 Rating From Nintendo Fans
It’s frustrating that the Nintendo eShop doesn’t have user reviews yet, making it difficult to know if players are enjoying this new game on the Switch or Switch 2. Luckily, the mobile versions do have reviews, and currently, the new Mario game has a perfect 5 out of 5 stars on iOS.

I was so excited when I finally saw this app available in the US! It doesn’t have a ton of bells and whistles, but honestly, I don’t even mind. Just playing with the interactive Yoshi is a blast and really helps me unwind.
The new Yoshi game for Android is getting great reviews, scoring 4.7 out of 5 stars. Interestingly, while it’s aimed at kids, many adults are also having fun playing it.
Players are loving this game! One reviewer, even as an adult, said they’re really having fun and it brought back memories of Super Mario 64. Another user described it as a cute game perfect for younger players and highly recommended it.

It’s unclear if Nintendo will add more content to the game, like new characters. Usually, these smaller releases aren’t updated after launch, aside from bug fixes and essential support. This game will likely follow that pattern.
