A game previously only available on PlayStation 5 has quietly launched on Xbox Series X and is included with Xbox Game Pass. Interestingly, it’s available on the standard Game Pass tier, not just the more expensive Ultimate version. However, it’s unclear how long the game will remain on the service, as Microsoft doesn’t typically share that information.
The PlayStation 5 game Pacific Drive came out in February 2024, and now Xbox players can finally get their hands on it. You can buy it digitally from the Microsoft Store for $40, or play it with an Xbox Game Pass subscription.
About the Game
If you haven’t heard of Pacific Drive, it was created by Ironwood Studios and published by Kepler Interactive. This was the first game released by Ironwood Studios, a team based in Seattle. Kepler Interactive is also known for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, which many predict will be a top game in 2025. Overall, Pacific Drive proved to be a strong first offering from Ironwood Studios.
The game, a first-person driving survival title, received a Metacritic score of 79 when it launched. Players have given it a 4.25 out of 5 rating on the PlayStation Store based on over 5,700 reviews, and an 83% approval rating on Steam from more than 12,000 reviews. While not a critical smash hit, these are good results, particularly for a new game.
You’re stranded in the Olympic Exclusion Zone, a strange and dangerous version of the Pacific Northwest, and need to survive. Your only tool is your car, which you’ll use to find supplies and uncover the secrets of what happened here.
If you’re playing Pacific Drive through Xbox Game Pass, you can expect to spend around 20-30 hours finishing the main story, depending on whether you explore optional content. If you aim to complete everything, it will likely take around 50 hours. Keep in mind that this playtime is for the base game only and doesn’t include the newly released DLC.
If you’re not excited about this latest feature, don’t worry – there’s plenty more new content coming. Just this week, a major game expected to be one of the highlights of Xbox Game Pass in 2025 became available.
