2027’s Biggest Game Confirmed Day One PS5 Pro Enhanced

The most prominent game currently slated for 2027 is confirmed to be optimized for the new PS5 Pro from its launch. Besides that, a lot of exciting titles are already announced for 2027, including highly anticipated games like Final Fantasy VII Revelation, Resident Evil Veronica, Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra, Clockwork Revolution, Fable, Persona 4 Revival, Pokemon Winds and Waves, Crazy Taxi: World Tour, Until Dawn 2, The Wolf Among Us 2, Xenoblade Genesis, Exodus, Spyro: A Realm Beyond, and State of Decay 3. It’s clear that next year is shaping up to be a huge one for video game releases.

Determining the most significant game release sparks discussion. While Pokémon Winds and Waves is likely to be the best seller on this list, that doesn’t necessarily make it the biggest release. Annual sports titles consistently perform well, but aren’t considered major events. Currently, Resident Evil: Veronica stands out as the largest release, exceeding all others mentioned. The Resident Evil franchise is incredibly popular, and Capcom has been very successful lately, particularly with that series. Plus, Resident Evil: Veronica will be optimized for the PS5 Pro from day one – a logical move given that Resident Evil: Requiem also launched with those enhancements this year. It’s still good to have early confirmation. Details about what these improvements will be haven’t been announced and likely won’t be revealed until closer to the game’s release.

A Remake of One of the Best Resident Evil Games

If you’re unfamiliar, Resident Evil Veronica is a reimagining of the classic game Resident Evil – Code: Veronica. The original story takes place right after Resident Evil 2, at the same time as Resident Evil 3, and is considered one of the best games in the entire series—it received a score of 94 on Metacritic when it first came out. Originally released only for the Sega Dreamcast, it was later made available on other platforms. Because it wasn’t part of the main numbered Resident Evil lineup, it didn’t achieve quite the same level of fame, giving developers more freedom to make significant changes in this remake. Reports suggest that this new version will be different from previous Resident Evil remakes with a greater number of alterations.
