3 Great Canceled Netflix Shows That Deserved Another Season

I’ve definitely noticed the frustration people have with Netflix canceling shows they love, and it really stings when a promising series gets cut short. But it’s not always a bad ending! Remember when they canceled Daredevil back in 2018? I was so upset! Thankfully, it made a huge comeback with Daredevil: Born Again, and the second season was fantastic. They’re already planning a third, which is amazing to see!

While some canceled shows get a second chance, many only last a season or two and are never revived. Here are three Netflix shows that fans were particularly disappointed to see go, and unfortunately, a return seems unlikely.

Bloodline

I was completely hooked by Bloodline! It’s a really gripping psychological thriller that came out on Netflix back in 2015 – I think it was one of the very first original shows they made. The cast was amazing, with Kyle Chandler, Ben Mendelsohn, and Linda Cardellini leading the way, and they really delivered on the suspenseful, fast-paced story. I found the plot to be genuinely fresh and interesting, unlike a lot of things I’d seen before.

Although Bloodline ran for three seasons, that wasn’t the original intention. Sources say Netflix planned for five or six seasons, but cancelled the show because it was too expensive to produce. Unfortunately, the writers found out about the cancellation while working on season three, forcing them to quickly wrap up the story in a way that wasn’t what they had envisioned.

Living With Yourself

Despite flying under the radar, the Netflix dark comedy Living With Yourself, starring Paul Rudd, is well worth another season. The show follows Miles (Rudd) who tries a procedure to improve himself, only to discover he’s being replaced by a clone – an allegedly better version of himself. As you’d expect from Paul Rudd, it’s a genuinely enjoyable show.

Unlike some shows that were officially canceled, Living With Yourself wasn’t actually canceled—it just wasn’t picked up for another season. Many viewers expected more episodes, especially considering the story wasn’t fully resolved, but it was quietly dropped. While it would be fantastic if the show returned to continue the story, that seems improbable now.

Kaos

The cancellation of Kaos is still a letdown for many viewers. The show, based on Greek mythology, starred Jeff Goldblum as a funny, modern take on Zeus – a Zeus who was just as flawed as the original! Despite being quirky, hilarious, and different from anything else on TV, Netflix canceled it after only one season, saying it didn’t attract enough viewers and was too expensive to produce.

A lot of people feel Netflix canceled Kaos too quickly, and the show still has a dedicated following. Sadly, despite the fans’ efforts, it looks like Netflix won’t revive the series, which is disappointing.
