Last year, KPop Demon Hunters became a major hit on Netflix, captivating audiences with its unique combination of magic, music, and K-Pop influences. But what really made the film special was its central group, Huntrix – three strong, magically-powered women who quickly became fan favorites. Given how much people enjoyed it, it’s no surprise they’re eager for a continuation.
A sequel to the animated film is planned, but it won’t be released for several years. In the meantime, fans are looking for similar shows, and anime offers a lot of choices. While many anime series share themes with KPop Demon Hunters, several new releases this year also feature captivating magic that fans of the film might enjoy. Three anime, in particular, stand out for their surprising and magical elements.
3) Champignon Witch

Released earlier this year, Champignon Witch recently finished its first season. This fantasy anime follows Luna, a witch who lives in isolation because of a unique condition: poisonous mushrooms grow wherever she walks. She only ventures to a nearby village every three months. What the villagers don’t realize is that these mushrooms aren’t naturally occurring – they’re actually a result of Luna absorbing negative energy.
This idea is similar to the internal conflict faced by Huntrix, especially Rumi, in KPop Demon Hunters, where she discovers she’s turning into a demon. Although Champignon Witch isn’t heavy on action, its magical aspects occasionally make up for that. The anime primarily explores Luna’s loneliness and her journey to overcome it, a theme fans of KPop Demon Hunters will probably enjoy.
2) Agents of the Four Seasons

This anime has a charmingly original concept: the four seasons are personified as humans. For the past ten years, Spring has been missing, and the world has felt its absence. The story starts when Spring’s representative arrives, determined to bring it back. In the first episode, we meet Hinagiku Kayo, Spring’s agent, who successfully returns Spring through a lively performance of dance and song, giving the show a special and memorable atmosphere.
If you enjoyed KPop Demon Hunters, you’ll probably like this anime too, as it also blends magic with music. The action is exciting, featuring characters who battle with swords, guns, and other weapons, adding a strong action element to the fantasy setting. With three episodes available now, it’s worth watching to see if it captures the same appeal as KPop Demon Hunters.
1) Witch Hat Atelier

Witch Hat Atelier is a standout magical anime, possibly the best in recent years. A key reason for its success is its well-developed magical system and the story of Coco’s training to become a witch. The anime truly emphasizes magic, making it central to everything that happens.
Fans of KPop Demon Hunters might especially enjoy this anime because it features strong, well-developed female characters and focuses on their growth, unlike many anime that rely on predictable tropes. It’s also packed with action, boasts beautiful animation from Bug Films, and has a fantastic soundtrack that enhances the magical atmosphere. If you loved the female leads and magical world of KPop Demon Hunters, this anime offers another exciting journey with equally powerful female characters.
