3 New MCU Villains Have Major Links To Thanos

Initially, the early stages of the Marvel Cinematic Universe build up the character of Thanos significantly. Before his official debut in the post-credit scene of The Avengers, the villainous Titan known as Thanos sets events into motion to acquire the Infinity Stones. He dispatches Loki to Earth, which is connected to some of the stones, and assigns his daughter, Gamora, the task of finding another one. Unfortunately for him, these plans backfire. As a result, Thanos personally begins the process of gathering the Infinity Stones, eliminating anyone who opposes him. Eventually, after much hard work, Thanos succeeds in his plan to eliminate half of all existence.

After suffering numerous losses among their ranks, the surviving heroes of the Marvel Cinematic Universe aren’t content with simply accepting defeat. Instead, they reverse Thanos’ actions and restore everyone who was lost. They go a step further by eliminating a version of the antagonist, ensuring he can never wreak havoc again. However, even in death, Thanos’ impact on the MCU persists, as we see in the character of Ironheart, who faces off against three villains with ties to him.

The Blood Siblings Got Their Start Working Under Thanos

In the series “Ironheart”, character Parker Robbins (Anthony Ramos), also known as The Hood, gathers a skilled team to execute his robberies. Slug (Shea Couleé) is a brilliant hacker, while Riri Williams focuses on engineering tasks. The Blood Siblings, Jeri (Zoe Terakes) and Roz (Shakira Barrera), may not be computer experts, but they provide essential strength as Robbins’ muscle, handling security guards effortlessly in the early episodes of “Ironheart”, a trait that aligns with their comic book personas.

In the comic books, the Blood Siblings are known as the Blood Brothers, and they serve under Thanos. When the Mad Titan establishes his base on Earth and kidnaps Drax the Destroyer, this pair encounters Iron Man, who is en route to aid the extraterrestrial hero. The Blood Brothers create a lot of trouble for Iron Man, and he usually requires partnering with another hero to defeat them.

Eventually, Drax eliminates one of the Blood Brothers, R’Hos, leaving Gh’Ree without a clear path forward. Mourning heavily, this former adversary teams up with The Hood’s gang to counter the Skrull invasion on Earth. Remarkably enough, the Blood Brothers have an exceptional storyline in Marvel Comics, yet they aren’t alone in having worked for both Thanos and The Hood.

Cousin John Is One of Thanos’ Favorites

Robbins often does things alongside his long-time cousin, John King. The two have been tight-knit since their younger days. While John can be quite assertive compared to Robbins, he’s always concerned about him, quick to intervene if he feels Robbins might overstep his boundaries with his talents. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, they’ve added a tender side to King that wasn’t initially showcased in the original material.

Initially, King begins his career working alongside his cousin, assisting The Hood construct his criminal organization. However, their prosperity doesn’t continue forever, and when the gang disbands, King finds himself jobless. At this point, the Mad Titan extends an offer, as he intends to form a group called Zodiac and desires King to lead as Cancer, undercover. Thanos equips his new recruits with super-powered suits, granting them extraordinary abilities. They embark on their mission, aiming to acquire various hazardous materials. However, the Avengers become aware of Zodiac’s intentions and apprehend Cancer, who betrays his comrades. Although being a traitor isn’t an admirable legacy for King, it’s still superior to his reputation in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
