Netflix is a top choice for thriller fans, and one of its best thriller series is set to return in 2026. The show has consistently improved since its debut, and when you think of great Netflix thrillers, this one should be at the top of your list.
Netflix consistently delivers thrilling mysteries, as seen in shows like Run Away (based on a Harlan Coben novel) and the Swedish detective series Land of Sin. In fact, given enough seasons, one of Netflix’s thrillers has the potential to become a truly iconic TV show, and the developments planned for 2026 bring that possibility closer to reality.
Beef Is One Of Netflix’s Best Thriller Series
The first season of Beef premiered on Netflix on April 6, 2023. Like many Netflix shows, all ten episodes were released at once, which was great because Beef quickly became incredibly captivating. Each episode left you wanting more, and the series was full of unexpected twists and turns.
The psychological thriller series features Steven Yeun, known from The Walking Dead, as Danny, and Ali Wong, from Tuca & Bertie, as Amy. After a road rage encounter, their conflict spirals out of control, impacting both of their personal lives. Each episode of Beef gets more intense, ultimately putting the characters in danger by the end of the season.
How Netflix’s Beef Keeps Getting Better 3 Years Later
Following two critically acclaimed seasons centered on compelling characters and thrilling action, the show Beef will return for a second season on Netflix on April 16, 2026. Like the popular dark comedy The White Lotus on HBO, Beef will now feature a new story each season with different characters. The show is continuing to evolve and improve with this new format.
The cast of Beef is always changing, and season 2 has a fantastic group of actors. Oscar Isaac and Carey Mulligan play Josh and Lindsay, an established couple, and Charles Melton and Cailee Spaeny play Austin and Ashley, a younger couple. Since season 1 was so strong with just two central characters, season 2—with two couples at odds—promises to be even more compelling.
The upcoming second season of the Netflix thriller Beef promises to be twice as chaotic as its first. Creator Lee Sung Jin has even shared that he has plans for a third season, telling Rolling Stone in 2023 that he’s already mapped out three seasons in his mind. With updates rolling in for season two and future seasons potentially on the horizon, the future looks bright for this thrilling series.
