Over its 30-year history, the Power Rangers franchise has featured many creative teams with themes ranging from dinosaurs and ninjas to animals and vehicles. Surprisingly, one of the most unusual Power Rangers teams first appeared during the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers series.
On May 8, 1995, the first part of the Wild West Rangers aired, introducing a new team of Power Rangers with a Wild West theme. The story begins when Kimberly travels back to 1880 and must assemble a new Ranger team – William, Rocko, Abraham, Miss Alicia, and the White Stranger – to prevent Goldar and his allies from erasing Angel Grove from history. As seen in the video, the Wild West Rangers have a uniquely striking appearance.
Who Are Power Rangers’ Wild West Rangers?

When Kimberly unexpectedly finds herself in 1880, she discovers she’s not the only one who traveled through time. Goldar, along with his putty soldiers and Needlenose, are also there, and they’re determined to wipe out Angel Grove in the past to prevent the future Rangers from ever existing.
Kimberly has a clever idea: she travels back in time to find Zordon and explain the situation. She successfully persuades him to assist her, and he lets her take four Power Coins so she can assemble a new team of Rangers to defeat Goldar. She finds earlier versions of her friends and creates a fantastic new team with a great look.
The Power Rangers’ outfits also include bandanas for a Western look. But the White Stranger really stands out – he’s basically a cowboy version of Tommy, wearing all white, including a white cowboy hat, and he keeps the hat on even while fighting.
Okay, so Kimberly manages to pull the new Rangers together and they actually morph – it’s a really great moment! They end up defeating Rita and Zedd’s forces and send them packing back to their own time. Billy finally gets our Kimberly back to the present, but the episode finishes with this really intriguing scene. The White Stranger passes someone in a carriage who looks exactly like Kimberly from that past era, leaving you wondering if they ever met. It makes you think about what might have happened if their paths crossed, and it’s a cool little mystery the show leaves hanging.
