I’m so excited – My Hero Academia is celebrating its 10th anniversary! As a huge fan of Kohei Horikoshi’s original manga from Weekly Shonen Jump, I’ve loved watching the anime adaptation, and it’s amazing to see it reach this milestone. The manga recently finished up in 2024, and the anime followed suit a year later. But the celebration doesn’t stop there! Crunchyroll just started streaming a special episode adapting an extra chapter from the final manga volume, which takes place eight years after the epic Final War – it’s incredible to see all those U.A. High students as established pro heroes! And there’s even more coming – they’re releasing another new episode later this year, focusing on Eri, the sweet little girl the heroes saved during the Shie Hassaikai Arc. It’s a fantastic time to be a My Hero Academia fan!
In addition to other news, the anime will feature an exhibition for Japanese fans in 2027. While fans eagerly anticipate updates about the series’ continuation, the first two seasons are now available to stream for free in North America. It’s Anime, a 24/7 free streaming channel, has begun offering the anime, timed to coincide with the series’ anniversary, giving fans a chance to revisit this popular show at no cost.

It’s Anime is currently available for viewers in North America on Samsung TV Plus and VIZIO WatchFree+. The channel is planning to add more shows, including popular series like My Hero Academia. Right now, the streaming update includes the first 38 episodes of the anime – all episodes from seasons one and two, except for the very last episode of season two.
My Hero Academia Will Return With More 10th Anniversary Projects
To celebrate its anniversary, the anime series has launched a new website where fans can find the latest news on upcoming projects. Beyond new episodes and an exhibition, the celebration will continue through 2026 and 2027 with more exciting announcements. This year, a new short film called ‘I am a hero too’ will first be shown at Anime Expo before being released on August 3rd.
The website announced two new lines of products, including one inspired by a Japanese football team. A temporary store will open in Japan this month, but it’s unclear when these items will be available to fans outside of Japan. The same applies to special merchandise featuring unique items for each of the 32 characters shown in the anniversary artwork.
