5 Most Powerful Jujutsu Kaisen Characters Yuji Can’t Defeat

Gege Akutami finished the Jujutsu Kaisen manga in September 2024, concluding the fight against Ryomen Sukuna. The story starts when Yuji Itadori swallows one of Sukuna’s fingers, making him a host for the powerful curse. Sukuna was known as the strongest sorcerer ever, and even a small part of his power was incredible. As the series went on, Yuji absorbed more of Sukuna’s power and even began to use his techniques. Combining his own natural athleticism with the abilities of the strongest sorcerer in history, Yuji was able to fight even the most formidable enemies.

Throughout the story, Yuji gained incredible powers with assistance from his allies. He could swap bodies with others using Ui Ui’s technique, effectively learning their skills. He also mastered Blood Manipulation by absorbing Death Paintings, a particularly strong ability within the series. Despite becoming very powerful in Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, Yuji never quite became stronger than these five key characters before the story concluded.

5) Yuki Tsukumo

Yuki was an incredibly powerful sorcerer, strong enough to defeat even the toughest enemies. Despite being tricked and defeated by Kenjaku, who had a wide range of cursed techniques, she remained a force to be reckoned with.

Her natural ability, Star Rage, lets her temporarily increase her size and deliver devastatingly strong attacks. She further enhances her power using Reverse Cursed Technique and Simple Domain, giving her both incredible offensive and defensive capabilities.

4) Kenjaku

The story ended without fully exploring one of its main villains. However, the series did show enough of his abilities to suggest that Yuji wouldn’t be able to defeat him in the final battle.

The villain has lived for centuries by possessing the bodies of other sorcerers, both living and deceased, using a unique ability. When he takes control of a new body, he also gains their memories and magical powers, giving him a vast and ever-growing skillset – including those of the powerful sorcerer Suguru Geto.

3) Yuta Okkotsu

Yuta possesses an immense amount of cursed energy, even more than Satoru Gojo. His unique ability lets him learn and then dramatically amplify the techniques of others, making them ten times more powerful. Furthermore, his Domain Expansion grants him access to an unlimited variety of techniques without any restrictions.

Yuta quickly proved his strength at Jujutsu High, defeating the powerful and experienced sorcerer Geto within months of starting his training. He then traveled to Africa to study under Miguel, mastering numerous new skills and returning a much more formidable fighter.

2) Satoru Gojo

Gojo’s birth dramatically changed the world of Jujutsu, and things haven’t been the same since. He’s the first member of his clan born with the Six Eyes in centuries, giving him the unique ability to manipulate space down to the atomic level.

Gojo is considered the most powerful sorcerer of our time, and his ability, Infinity, makes him virtually untouchable. It works by dramatically slowing down anything – attacks or people – that attempts to come into contact with him.

1) Ryomen Sukuna

Sukuna’s immense power has always been legendary, and the manga’s final story arc reveals the reasons behind his reputation as the strongest sorcerer ever. Even after being weakened by Gojo, Sukuna, at full power and in his true form, was able to battle almost all of the main characters at once.

He’s an incredibly powerful Jujutsu sorcerer with a vast amount of cursed energy – even more than Yuta. Throughout the entire story, no one else came close to matching his strength, and Yuji couldn’t have beaten him alone; he needed help from all his allies.
