5 Pokemon We Most Want to See Added to Pokopia in the Bubbly Basin DLC

Pokemon fans have gotten a first glimpse of the new Pokemon Pokopia expansion! The Bubbly Basin update will introduce a brand-new underwater area to the Pokemon life simulation game this August. We’ve only seen a few of the new Pokemon coming with this update so far – Mudkip, Corphish, and even Ditto enjoying life underwater. Hopefully, the upcoming Pokopia DLC will include many more new Pokemon to discover and become friends with.

We’ll have to wait a little while longer for the new DLC to come out, but that gives fans like me plenty of time to imagine what we want to see in Pokopia. I’ve already shared some important features the game needs, and now I’m making a wish list of new Pokémon to add to the Pokémon Pokopia Pokédex with the Bubbly Basin expansion. Since the expansion focuses on the ocean, I’m focusing on Pokémon that could realistically live underwater.

5) Sobble

Pokemon Pokopia has plenty of starter Pokemon to choose from, but it’s missing Sobble and its evolutions. Adding this Water-type Pokemon would be a great fit, especially in the Bubbly Basin area. Plus, the slightly moody personality of Sobble’s evolved forms would offer a nice contrast to the generally happy people and Pokemon already living in Pokopia.

4) Corsola

I’m really excited about the coral Pokémon! They seem like a perfect addition to an underwater area in Pokopia, and I can already imagine designing their habitat. Plus, if the game continues to explore the darker side of Pokémon stories, Corsola would fit right in. We might even see its spooky Galarian form, which becomes a Ghost-type for a specific reason – and that’s all I need to know!

3) Staryu

Pokemon fans, imagine this: Mega Starmie in Pokemon Pokopia! I’ve always been a big fan of the Staryu family, and it’s one of the original Kanto Pokemon that hasn’t made an appearance yet. While we haven’t gotten Mega Evolutions in Pokopia so far, seeing Mega Starmie brought to life in this lifestyle game would be amazing—just picture how fun it would be! But even if that doesn’t happen, I think a Staryu is essential since the game has an underwater area.

2) Wailmer

As a huge Pokémon fan, there’s one Pokémon I really hope shows up in the underwater areas of Pokopia: Wailmer! It just makes so much sense – Wailmer debuted back in Generation 3 with the Dive move, and it feels like Ditto absolutely needs to use that to explore the Bubbly Basin. Honestly, leaving Wailmer and its evolution, Wailord, out would be a huge missed opportunity. Plus, I’ve always loved their designs, and I’d be thrilled if my Ditto could encounter one while exploring!

1) Spheal

Game Freak, please add Spheal to the game! This adorable, round Ice- and Water-type Pokémon is undeniably cute. While it usually lives in cold areas, we think it would fit perfectly in the Bubbly Basin. Its happy and somewhat clueless personality also makes it ideal as a talkative Pokémon in Pokopia.
