A highly-rated RPG (scoring 95/100) offering up to 140 hours of gameplay is now available at no extra cost for PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium members. Widely considered one of the best role-playing games ever created, and a true gaming classic, it’s now a standout title within the PS Plus Extra and Premium game libraries.
PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium members on both PS4 and PS5 can now download Persona 5 Royal, the expanded version of the popular 2016 RPG Persona 5. This is a substantial game – it typically takes around 100 hours to finish the main story, 120 hours if you explore optional content, and a full 140 hours for dedicated completionists. It’s the largest and arguably the best game added to the PS Plus Extra and Premium lineup this March.
One of the Best RPGs of All Time
Despite being called Persona 5, this game is actually the sixth in the Persona series. It’s credited with bringing the previously lesser-known series to a wider audience and is currently the best-selling and highest-rated game in the Persona RPG franchise.
You don’t need to have played any previous Persona games to enjoy Persona 5, as each game tells its own story. However, with Persona 6 – expected to be a major release – on the horizon, now is a great time to start exploring the series.
Sony and Atlus haven’t said how long Persona 5 Royal will be available on PS Plus Extra and Premium, which is standard practice. Usually, games added to these services are available for either 12 or 24 months. Given that Persona 5 Royal is a very lengthy RPG – similar to a recently added game with up to 180 hours of gameplay – players will likely need the full subscription period to finish it.
