This week, some thrilling online content is being released, including fresh and timeless horror films such as “Clown in a Cornfield”, “XX”, and “The Monkey”. To balance things out, comedies like “The Lost City”, “Shanghai Noon”, and “Freaky Tales” are ready to bring some laughter. The hotly anticipated second seasons of “Twisted Metal” and “Wednesday” are expected to create quite a stir. Additionally, Tubi has a new TV series in store, a revival of a show they saved two years after AMC decided to cancel it before its debut, promising an exciting and diverse streaming week ahead.
10) Twisted Metal – Season 2
starting August 7, 2025, fresh installments from the second season of Twisted Metal can be streamed on Peacock. In the series, Demascus, played by Okieriete Onaodowan who is 33 years old, embarks on a journey of self-discovery using innovative technology that bends reality. The show will present entertaining acts while delving into Black culture and investigating the diverse experiences of Black men. In addition to Onaodowan, Martin Lawrence, Caleb Eberhardt, Janet Hubert, and others are also part of the cast.
6) Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile
Starting August 4, 2025, the movie “Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile,” initially released in October 2022, can now be streamed on HBO Max. Directed by Will Speck and Josh Gordon, this heartwarming film revolves around a family who relocate to New York City, where their son (Winslow Fegley) develops an unusual friendship with a singing anthropomorphic crocodile (portrayed by Shawn Mendes and Ben Palacios). Based on Bernard Waber’s 1965 children’s book of the same name and its precursor, “The House on East 88th Street” from 1962, “Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile” offers a delightful, feel-good experience suitable for all ages, making it a must-watch!
5) Shanghai Noon & Shanghai Knights
In August 8, 2025, both the original “Shanghai Noon” from 2000 and its sequel “Shanghai Knights” from 2003 will be streamable on Hulu. Starring Owen Wilson and Jackie Chan, these martial arts-infused western action-comedies are fantastic buddy movies that feature the duo of American outlaw Roy O’Bannon (Wilson) and Chinese Imperial Guard Chon Wang (Chan).
