Chris Pratt is an electric state when he’s at home.
Ever since our little bundle of joy joined us in November, being a father of four has become the most rewarding experience for me, shared with my amazing wife, Katherine Schwarzenegger. We’re already parents to two beautiful daughters, Lyla and Eloise, and a spirited son named Eloise. Meanwhile, I also have a wonderful 12-year-old son, Jack, whom I share with my dear ex-wife, Anna Faris. Life couldn’t be more fulfilling as I navigate this incredible journey of parenthood!
Chris shared with TopMob News that life at home is a mix of beautiful chaos during the New York City premiere of his series The Terminal List: Dark Wolf, airing on Amazon Prime August 27. He described it as incredibly hectic yet delightful and cherishes every moment he can be at home. He feels fortunate and grateful for this experience. (Stay tuned to TopMob News tonight, Aug. 5 at 11p.m., for more from the premiere.)
Even though he’s a highly recognized figure on television and in films, this 46-year-old surprises us with his simple ideal for a summer day with his family – something less glamorous than you’d expect.
He shared that the girls have recently begun swimming in the pool while wearing goggles, at which point he’ll descend to instruct them on how to dive deep into the pool, retrieve items, and return to the surface. Essentially, it’s a pool party with music playing, food being grilled, and everyone enjoying a splashing good time under the sun.
Over time, Katherine and Chris have openly discussed their approach to managing their combined family. This includes sharing that, upon getting engaged to the Marvel star, Katherine, age 35, sought guidance from a step-family counselor.
During an interview on the “Parenting & You With Dr. Shefali” podcast on July 15th, Katherine (who married Chris in 2019) stated that she realized something significant at the time they got engaged. This realization has been immensely beneficial for her, and it has also helped her comprehend her role as a step-parent.
One of the things she’s discovered is effective ways to communicate with Jack and also understanding her identity as his stepmother.
She pointed out that step-parenting, much like regular parenting, doesn’t come with instructions. As someone who’s been both a parent and a step-parent, she finds the role particularly puzzling because it doesn’t quite fit into any existing categories – neither a parent nor a nanny nor an assistant. Instead, you have responsibilities that span all these roles without fully embodying any of them.

Chris, too, spoke to how important and also challenging the role of a stepparent can be.
He went on to say, “Each kid is unique, following their own journey. It’s likely that they grapple with the reality of being kids from a divorced family. When a non-biological parent steps in to provide structure and hold children accountable, it might seem unappreciated. However, this role is crucial and immensely significant.
Thankfully, Katherine said she has the perfect model in her mother, Maria Shriver.
She mentioned that she relies on her mother for every aspect of her life: “I consult her about everything, from being a wife, a mom, and even a stepsister. We discuss all the different roles I play, no matter what it is.

Arnold Schwarzenegger’s kids – Katherine Schwarzenegger, Christina Schwarzenegger, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Chris Schwarzenegger (with ex-wife Maria Shriver), and Joseph Baena (with former housekeeper Mildred Baena) – have grown up. As a result, Arnold’s role has evolved from being a dad to being a grandpa. He is now a grandfather to Katherine and her husband Chris Pratt’s three children together: Lyla, Eloise, and Ford. In 2022, Arnold shared with Jimmy Kimmel that being a grandfather is the easiest thing, as he gets to spend a couple of hours playing with his granddaughter Lyla, then puts her on a horse or with the dog before they leave after two hours.
Arnold Schwarzenegger’s kids are all grown up now, so he is now a proud grandfather to Katherine and Chris Pratt’s three children. He enjoys spending time playing with his granddaughter for a couple of hours before they leave.
In 1986, Maria married Arnold, but they divorced in 2011 following news that he had fathered a child from an affair. Despite their split, Chris, her son-in-law, praised the way they co-parented in public eye. As the actor from Guardians of the Galaxy stated in May 2024 to Today, “Maria and Arnold raised four remarkable children, which isn’t always simple. Many people with wealth or fame end up raising spoiled kids. So I’d love to pick her brain and find out ‘What did you do? How didn’t you spoil them? How didn’t you ruin them?'” Chris suggested that the secret behind their successful parenting was Maria’s discipline, good manners, accountability, and strong faith – qualities he wished to instill in his own children.
Patrick, born in 1993, is the eldest son of Arnold and Maria. While having parents in the business certainly has its advantages, he also acknowledges his brother-in-law Chris for helping him secure a significant role. In an interview with Jimmy Kimmel in 2022, Patrick recalled Chris saying, “Hey, there’s this young character named Donny Mitchell, you’ll be the youngest in the platoon.” He continued, “‘But if you want to get this role, I need you to go and try to get into character, really immerse yourself. Gain 20 pounds, start tactical training, learn their movements, body language, everything.'”
Training with real-life Navy SEALs was a dream come true for him. Since then, he has played Saxon Ratliff on The White Lotus and Tim Tebow in FX’s American Sports Story. Despite his connections, Patrick emphasizes the effort he puts into his craft. He told The Sunday Times in February 2025 that people may assume he got his role on The White Lotus because of who his father is, but they aren’t seeing the decade of acting classes, weekly school plays, countless hours spent developing characters, and the hundreds of rejected auditions he’s endured.
Soon, Patrick will take on a new role: husband. He proposed to model Abby Champion in December 2023.
Katherine Schwarzenegger is the oldest child of Arnold and Maria Schwarzenegger, born in 1989. Now, the author of “The Gift of Forgiveness” is a mother herself, having married Chris Pratt in 2019 after a year of dating. In 2020, they welcomed their first child, daughter Lyla. Two years later, Eloise joined the family, followed by younger brother Ford in 2024. Upon becoming a mother, she wrote, “When I held that baby for the first time, it felt like everything in my life had led me to that moment, and it was perfect.” Moreover, she also has a stepson named Jack, whom Chris and his ex-wife Anna Faris welcomed in 2012.
In Chris’ perspective, family is always his top priority. However, he faced criticism in 2021 when he expressed gratitude towards Katherine on Instagram for giving him a healthy daughter, as some social media users perceived this as insensitive towards Anna and Jack, who was born premature. In an interview with Men’s Health in 2022, Chris shared his dismay over the backlash, stating, “It really upset me that these blessings in my life are seen as a burden by some people. I even cried about it because I don’t want my son, who is 9 years old, to read those hurtful comments that are now forever etched on the internet.
In August 2012, Jack, the child of Anna and Chris, arrived around two months prematurely and required hospitalization in the special care unit for newborns (neonatal intensive care unit).
At a 2021 gathering with the Global Alliance to Prevent Prematurity and Stillbirth, the actress reminisced about the day she brought Jack home for the first time, recalling years filled with medical checkups, surgeries, physical therapy, and endless joy as Jack was an incredibly endearing little being. Now in his teenage years, Jack still seeks advice from his parents. In an interview with TopMob in March 2025, Anna expressed her constant concern about whether she is providing the right guidance and building a solid foundation for her child. When Jack seeks her counsel, it reassures her that she’s on the right track as a parent, making her incredibly proud of him.
Approximately one year and a few months after Katherine and Chris got married, they had a baby girl named Lyla Maria Pratt in August 2020. The middle name was chosen to honor Katherine’s mother. Although Chris tends to keep his family life low-key, he did reveal that Jack is already excelling as the older sibling. As Entertainment Tonight reported in 2021, Chris said, “He’s really good with her.” Lyla always tries to take off Jack’s glasses, and he remains very patient with her, making him a wonderful big brother.
Moving ahead to March 2022, Chris and Katherine expanded their family by welcoming baby girl Eloise Christina Schwarzenegger Pratt into their lives.
In an interview with TopMob in June 2022, the actor from Zero Dark Thirty announced that he’s now a father of two girls. He shared that his eldest daughter has adapted well to her new role as a big sister. Initially, she was curious about the new arrival, asking questions like “What’s that thing? What’s up with that?” But now, she shows great affection towards her sibling and is always eager to hold her. For him, these moments of love and bonding are what truly matter in life. He feels incredibly grateful and joyful about the experience.
On November 8, 2024, Katherine and Chris welcomed their newborn son named Ford Fitzgerald Schwarzenegger Pratt into their family. A couple of days after the birth, they shared on Instagram that both mother and baby are doing well. Their other children are overjoyed by his arrival. The parents expressed their feelings of immense gratitude and blessing.
Christopher Schwarzenegger is the youngest son and Arnold and Maria shared, while Christina Schwarzenegger is their youngest daughter. Born in 1997, Christopher has kept a low profile but is actively involved in charitable work as Vice Chair of the Special Olympics Founder’s Council. He also serves as Director of Development at Indus Valley Media, and his past work experience includes Malka creative content agency and working for sports psychologist Trevor Moawad. A graduate of the University of Michigan with a degree in psychology, Christopher has maintained a relatively private life.
Christina, on the other hand, was born in 1991. She is an executive producer with notable credits such as the 2018 documentary “Take Your Pills” and the 2022 doc “Take Your Pills: Xanax.
In my role as a lifestyle expert, I’d rephrase it as follows:
“As a result of a relationship that took place back in 1996 with our household staff member Mildred Patricia Baena, I became the biological father to an individual named Joseph, who was born in 1997. It wasn’t until much later that I discovered this fact. In my 2023 docuseries ‘Arnold,’ I shared this personal journey, acknowledging the challenge of keeping it a secret and the emotional turmoil that came with it.
Despite this being a significant mistake in my life, I am incredibly proud of Joseph for the man he has become. He shares many of my passions, including acting and fitness, and even ventured into real estate. In fact, he participated in season 31 of ‘Dancing With the Stars.’ Much like his father Arnold, Joseph is highly regarded and well-respected in his circles.
In 2009, Chris and Anna got married, but eight years later, they announced their separation. Anna, who was previously wed to Ben Indra, hinted that her life with Chris wasn’t as perfect as it appeared. During a 2021 episode of her podcast “Unqualified,” she mentioned that while things might have been more open with Ben, both she and Chris kept up an idealized image even among their close friends. Anna, who is now married to cinematographer Michael Barrett and stepmother to his two children, also suggested that being in the same industry as her ex-husbands didn’t aid their relationships. She added that in her previous marriages with actors, she and her partners may not have handled competitiveness well, and she hoped she had grown from that experience.
