As a devoted fan of the magical universe, I’m thrilled to share that the Wizarding World is getting even more enchanting! Production for HBO’s upcoming Harry Potter TV series, scheduled to debut in 2027, is underway. Meanwhile, Audible and J.K. Rowling’s Pottermore Publishing have joined forces to create “Harry Potter: The Full-Cast Audio Editions”. Announced last year, this audiobook series boasts an impressive cast and will span all seven Harry Potter books. The first audiobook, “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone”, is set to be released in November, according to Variety’s recent report. Subsequent monthly releases of the remaining six novels in the series will follow through 2026.
The audiobook collection is set to revitalize the Harry Potter franchise, originating from J.K. Rowling’s debut novel in 1997 and expanding to encompass 11 movies and an upcoming series. By providing fresh voices for Rowling’s beloved characters, Audible’s newest release showcases over 200 actors throughout the seven books, with Hugh Laurie assuming the role of Albus Dumbledore. A sneak peek at the new voices has been unveiled in a trailer for the series, exciting fans.
The actor expressed his gratitude for being given the opportunity to guide Albus Dumbledore through this Pottermore and Audible rendition, noting that he’s aware of the impressive precedents set by Richard Harris, Michael Gambon, Jude Law, Jim Dale, and Sir Stephen Fry. He also mentioned that John Lithgow is soon to join us as the next driver in this esteemed group. It’s an honor to be part of such a distinguished company.
In the initial three audiobooks of the seven-book series, Cush Jumbo takes on the storytelling role, with Frankie Treadaway as Harry Potter, Max Lester as Ron Weasley, and Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger. These same characters will be portrayed by these actors in the upcoming HBO show. For the latter four books, Jaxon Knopf, Rhys Mulligan, and Nina Barker-Francis have been cast to voice the characters. The voice cast also includes Matthew Macfadyen as Lord Voldemort, Riz Ahmed as Professor Snape, and Michelle Gomez as Professor McGonagall. The casting process was finalized in early 2025, with further announcements about additional cast members to come at a later date.
Starting on November 4th, 2025, a popular audiobook series that offers an engaging audio experience will commence with “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.” On December 16th, 2025, we’ll move on to “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets,” followed by “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban” on January 13th, 2026. “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire” will be released on February 10th, 2026, with “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix” following suit on March 10th, 2026. The series will continue with “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” on April 14th, 2026, and conclude with “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” on May 12th, 2026.
The comprehensive full-cast audio editions of “Harry Potter” are set to become part of Audible’s existing “Harry Potter” collection. This collection already houses the original single-voice English audiobooks, narrated by Stephen Fry and Jim Dale. Additionally, the collection includes various spin-off titles such as “The Tales of Beedle the Bard” read by Jude Law, “Harry Potter: A History of Magic” read by Natalie Dormer, “Quidditch Through the Ages” read by Andrew Lincoln, and “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” read by Eddie Redmayne.
Audible’s new Harry Potter audiobook series debuts this fall.
