Following the release of the Community Day schedule for the upcoming season, developers at Pokemon Go swiftly revealed what players can anticipate in September. Specifically, on September 14th (Sunday), the game will host a Community Day event focusing on Flabebe, the Fairy-type Pokemon. This event takes place from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., local time, and during these hours, players have a higher probability of encountering its Shiny variant. It’s important to note that, as with all things Pokemon Go, Flabebe has multiple forms, and the specific one appearing during the event will depend on your location.
During the upcoming event, North American players will frequently encounter the Yellow Blossom Flabebe. On the other hand, the Blue Blossom Flabebe will be prevalent in the Asia-Pacific region, while the African, European, and Middle Eastern regions will host the Red Blossom Flabebe. Players across all regions may also find the Orange and White versions of Flabebe. Unfortunately, Niantic won’t adjust Flabebe’s regional availability for this event, which could be a bit disappointing for those aiming to fill their collection completely.
Regardless of the color variation in Flabebe you come across, all Shiny versions share similar characteristics, with differences subtly appearing during evolution but becoming more distinct over time. Unlike regular Flabebe, which is usually green, the body and eyes of this specific type transform into a soft lilac shade, leaving its flower untouched. As it evolves into Floette and eventually Florges, the lilac color scheme persists, with the antennae/eyelashes also taking on this hue. By the time it becomes Florges, the shade has deepened somewhat, and the larger size of the Pokemon makes it easier to notice this change.
During the specified event period ending on September 21st at 10 p.m. local time, players who develop Floette can acquire a Florges with a unique Featured Attack called Chilling Water. In this instance, it’s a Charged Attack that has a power of 60 in Trainer Battles and reduces the opponent’s attack by one stage. However, this effect is absent in Gyms and Raids. Instead, the power increases to 65. It takes some effort to evolve Floette, but Niantic is making it easier for this event. From now until September 21st, Florges will only need seven hearts instead of the typical 20 to evolve.
On Flabebe Community Day in Pokemon Go, players can anticipate additional perks aside from the main event. These bonuses include doubled Candy for catches and a higher probability of obtaining Candy XL for trainers above Level 31. Lure Modules and Incense activated during the event will last for an extended period of three hours. Players should also prepare for reduced egg hatching distance by a quarter, and an increase in the number of daily Special Trades that can be made until September 21st. During this timeframe, all trades require only half the usual amount of Stardust.
