A memorable quote can turn a good movie into a classic, and many films have lines that everyone recognizes and repeats. Phrases like “As you wish” from The Princess Bride or “I’m gonna make him an offer he can’t refuse” from The Godfather have become part of our culture, lasting for years. Now, one of the most quoted movies ever is available on Hulu, but its follow-up film is proving difficult for fans to enjoy.
Over 20 years after its release, the quirky comedy Napoleon Dynamite is still widely quoted – remember lines like “Vote for Pedro!” and “Tina, you fat lard, come get some dinner!”? The movie, which became a huge success earning over 100 times its original cost, recently started streaming on Hulu. It follows a strange but lovable teenager in Idaho as he deals with high school and helps his friend Pedro run for class president. Sadly, the Napoleon Dynamite TV series isn’t available on Hulu yet, making it difficult to watch.
Napoleon Dynamite Is One of the Most Iconic Cult Comedies of the 2000s – But Its Sequel Show Is Impossible to Stream
No film defined the early 2000s quite like Napoleon Dynamite. It became an instant and unexpected hit, eventually gaining a dedicated cult following, thanks to its incredibly memorable lines and its unique portrayal of the awkwardness, loneliness, and everyday strangeness of being a teenager. The movie’s dialogue and scenes quickly became part of teen culture – you saw “Vote for Pedro” everywhere! But Napoleon Dynamite was more than just funny and quotable; it was surprisingly touching. Beneath the deadpan humor and quirky style, the film had a genuinely heartfelt story that celebrated underdogs and embraced the challenges of adolescence, making it a movie you could watch again and again.
Although the movie Napoleon Dynamite was a huge hit, it never got a follow-up film. Instead, it inspired an animated series that continued the story and took place in the same world as the 2004 movie. The original actors reprised their roles, voicing their characters in a series of quirky adventures in Preston, Idaho. Unfortunately, the show only lasted one season – six half-hour episodes aired on Fox in 2012 – and it’s been hard to find ever since. Currently, the only way to watch it is by renting it online, as it isn’t available on any streaming services.
What’s New on Hulu?
While Napoleon Dynamite is popular, Hulu has added a lot of other great movies to watch this April. Subscribers can now enjoy films like The Beekeeper, 50 First Dates, The Devil Wears Prada, Night at the Museum, Shrek, and the Hulu original Pizza Movie, with more titles coming throughout the month.
