Seth Blackstock is honoring the memory of his father.
Two days after Brandon Blackstock’s death at age 48 following a fight against cancer, his 18-year-old son paid a heartfelt tribute to him.
In a heartfelt tribute post on August 9th, Seth expressed that he had lost his hero the day before. He wrote about Melissa Ashworth, the first wife Brandon had shared him with, saying: “I can’t find the right words to express how proud I am of you for raising me and your three other children.
Apart from sharing charming photos of their bond over the years, Seth also emphasized the significant role his father played in his life, as well as that of his sister Savannah Blackstock (23) and Brandon’s children with ex-wife Kelly Clarkson: River Rose Blackstock (11) and Remington “Remy” Alexander Blackstock (9).
As Seth put it, “You were a father, a son, a brother, and most importantly my best friend.”
Following the loss, the teen expressed his belief that his father is now at peace.
From a bird’s-eye perspective, I’ll watch you grow now, and that’s perfectly fine by me. There’s no one else in the world I would choose as my father because nobody could have been half as wonderful to me as you were. I’ll see you every day as the sun rises and sets.
Reflecting on my father’s remarkable hunting prowess, I can honestly declare that every deer and elk in the woods must have breathed a collective sigh of relief when the greatest hunter I’ve ever known hung up his rifle for good.
He concluded the message by acknowledging their cherished past moments, saying, “I have such deep affection for you and I eagerly look forward to our next fishing trip together. With love, your son Seth. Strive to be good or simply enjoy being good – with love, your dad.
Brandon, who was wedded to Melissa between 2001 and 2012, and later married Kelly from 2013 until his passing in 2022, died due to natural causes. The coroner of Silver Bow County, Dan Hollis, identified that his death was linked to melanoma.
Despite keeping his skin cancer diagnosis confidential, it was revealed by his representative soon after his death that he had been discreetly fighting the illness for a period of three years.
As a devoted admirer, I’m deeply saddened to bring this news – Brandon Blackstock’s life journey among us has come to an end. For over three years, he courageously fought against cancer, but it was his time to depart, enveloped in the love and presence of his family. The announcement came from his representative to NBC News on August 7th.
