Reba McEntire Shares Message on Brandon Blackstock’s “Struggle”

Reba McEntire is looking back on Brandon Blackstock‘s final days.

In a deeply emotional tribute, the former star of ‘Reba’ shared her thoughts about her stepson’s long and difficult fight against cancer, which ended tragically at the age of 48.

A week ago, my dearest stepson Brandon Blackstock found his peace with God. This was shared on August 12th via an Instagram post, accompanied by heartwarming photos of us together. His journey has ended, and now he rests eternally in the embrace of divine presence.

The 70-year-old, who was married to Narvel Blackstock (Brandon’s father) from 1989 to 2015, stressed that there is no one who could fill the space in her heart that the late talent manager once occupied.

She went on to say that no one compares to him, and she’s grateful for the shared moments. His unique spirit lives on through his family, who will continue to cherish his impact and joy.

Reba added, “Rest in peace cowboy. Happy trails to you til we meet again.”

The well-known singer of “Survivor” is among several individuals expressing public condolences following the passing of Brandon on August 7 at his home, as a result of complications from melanoma, a diagnosis confirmed by Silver Bow County Coroner Dan Hollis to TopMob News.

In simpler terms, Melissa Ashworth Wells, Brandon’s former spouse whom he married from 1999 to 2012 and later wed Kelly Clarkson, also paid a touching tribute after his unfortunate death.

Brandon exuded a captivating charisma, humor, and undeniably embodied the essence of a true gentleman – complete with cowboy boots, Wrangler jeans, and a cowboy hat. As his daughter Melissa shared on Instagram August 8th, ‘He was the most exceptional father and grandfather, adoring deeply and battling courageously.’ Savannah Blackstock, 23, and Seth Blackstock, 18, are their cherished children together.

Similarly, Shelby Blackstock, son of Reba and Nigel, shared a heartfelt account of his unique relationship with his half-brother in a touching personal statement.

In a heartfelt Instagram post on August 8, he expressed that my mentor had imparted so much wisdom, creating an abundance of cherished memories that I’ll carry with me for eternity. For each priceless moment we experienced together, there are countless more that we will unfortunately miss out on, yet I believe his spirit will remain close by. In every hunt, every flight, and during the ordinary moments of life, I will sense his presence.

In reaction to Shelby’s statement, Reba expressed agreement with her son’s thoughtful words by posting, “Absolutely, Shelby! We’ll surely miss him dearly.

Brandon is mourned by his grown-up children Savannah and Seth, along with River Rose, age 11, and Remington “Remy” Alexander, 9 – the kids he had with Kelly – and also his grandchildren Lake and Julie.
