The publishing company Annapurna Interactive, in collaboration with developer Light Brick Studio, has officially revealed a new game centering around LEGO. Named LEGO Voyagers,
As per the announcement, the storyline for LEGO Voyagers centers around a pair of comrades embarking on an adventure to save a deserted spaceship. Throughout their voyage, these friends will grow stronger and understand the importance of companionship, as they discover “the significance of bonding.
In this game, the player characters will start off as basic LEGO blocks. Over time, they’ll be able to evolve into more complex shapes by combining with their surroundings. Players can also join forces with one another to solve puzzles and traverse obstacles, such as constructing a homemade catapult to cross over a large trench.
For the LEGO Voyagers game, which is exclusively a cooperative title, players can anticipate both online multiplayer and local co-op play on a single screen. This exciting adventure will be available on personal computers through Steam, as well as PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles.
As a dedicated gamer, I dived into the latest creation by the studio titled LEGO Builder’s Journey, which debuted on PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S via Apple Arcade, before eventually landing on PS4 and PS5 in 2022. This game offers a unique blend of puzzle-solving where you can strategize your own methods to accomplish objectives, giving players the liberty to choose their preferred approach to victory.
In the game LEGO Builder’s Journey, a key feature lets players construct virtually anything they imagine using an extensive collection of building blocks. Subsequent updates included a Creative Mode where players can preserve their masterpieces and extend them without any constraints.
It’s important to mention that the games produced by Light Brick Studio differ noticeably from typical LEGO titles. For example, compared to games like “LEGO Horizon Adventures,” scheduled for November 2024, which offers a playful interpretation of Guerrilla Games’ “Horizon Zero Dawn.” Unlike the upcoming “LEGO Voyagers,” “LEGO Horizon Adventures” focuses on the adventures of protagonist Aloy, but with a brighter and more vibrant rendition of the series, presenting a more upbeat mood.
Previously in February, Guerrilla Games unveiled a trailer for the highly praised game titled LEGO Horizon Adventures, showcasing some exciting gameplay footage from this adventure-themed game.
It’s worth noting that in March, Niels Christiansen, an executive at LEGO, declared that the company was planning to take control of creating LEGO-themed games internally. Prior to this decision, they had collaborated with studios such as Traveller’s Tales, Guerilla Games, and Epic Games. Additionally, LEGO has a lasting alliance with Epic Games for the LEGO Fortnite series, which emphasizes PvE experiences including LEGO Fortnite Odyssey and Brick Life.
