FM26 release date speculation: New features and latest news on Football Manager 26

It’s been a long time since our last FM, but it’s finally time to start looking forward to FM26.

Following the cancelation of FM25 earlier this year, there have been hints from Sports Interactive that a new version may be on the horizon, with details gradually emerging.

If you’re curious about when the next edition of Football Manager will be released, here’s some information regarding the anticipated launch date for FM 2026.

FM26 release date speculation

We predict that FM26 will release at some point in November 2025.

Although Sports Interactive (SI) hasn’t announced or given any indication of a release date as of now, we’ve speculated the potential launch timeline considering the pattern in which their Football Manager series has been previously launched.

Contrary to what one might expect, all versions of Football Manager, from 2015 to 2024, were not launched in November; instead, the latest version, FM24, was released at the beginning of December.

In simpler terms, it’s quite possible that a title will be launched somewhere between November 7th and November 14th, as many titles tend to come out during the second week of the month.

As a gamer, I can’t help but wonder if my favorite game might be delayed yet again, given the hurdles faced during its development. If that’s the case, it looks like we might be seeing Football Manager 26 hitting the shelves in December 2025 instead.

FM26 gameplay news

Despite Information Services remaining rather secretive about the details of Football Manager 26, much like their approach with FM25, there are several aspects of the game that we’ve managed to gather information on – many of which were initially planned for FM25.

The upcoming game signifies the transition of the series to the Unity engine, promising significant graphic enhancements, as hinted at in a recent preview, along with smoother and life-like character actions and movements by the developers at Sports Interactive.

A significant new feature in this game will be the inclusion of women’s soccer. Although the licenses have not been finalized just yet, it’s probable that many prominent women’s leagues, like those from England, Spain, France, Germany, and the USA, along with others, will be a part of it.

Strategy updates are coming, introducing fresh player positions and personalized formation adjustments. What’s more exciting is that now players can control the playing style of their teams, whether it’s during possession or while defending – a feature long-desired by many gamers over the years.

Alongside the usual modifications in user interface and menus, we can also expect a host of previously unannounced new features to appear.
