Kelly Ripa was feeling a tad bra-vocative.
Indeed, during their chat on the show “Live with Kelly and Mark, the host openly talked about her bra-related habits, revealing that she tends not to frequently change them, joining in the conversation with her husband Mark Consuelos.
Kelly kicked off the August 13 episode of their talk show by saying, ‘Believe it or not, bras date back further than you might imagine.’
The 54-year-old jokingly added, “And I don’t mean just my bra. I mean bras.”
The TV host claims that her bras seem to last an incredibly long time, as she doesn’t require as much use from them due to having a smaller bust size.
As she joked, “I’m not asking a lot of them, if you know what I’m saying.”
In essence, I don my bra primarily to secure my microphone in place, not for any other purpose as there’s nothing else to be found beneath it.
And Kelly was quick to shut down anyone in the audience who was put off by the discussion.
“I don’t care if you’re offended,” she told the crowd. “Shut it.”
As a lifestyle expert, I’d like to share some insights from my personal perspective, particularly regarding the topic at hand. You see, I’m a parent to Michael (age 28), Lola (24), and Joaquin (22) – just like Kelly. When it comes to diapers for our little ones, I’ve had my fair share of experiences. For instance, I used to prefer the styles with the small snaps in front, finding them more convenient and easy to manage during those hectic early days.
The comment initiated another of their explicit discussions, with Kelly noting that Mark was particularly skilled at taking off that type of intimate clothing.
She remembered being extremely impressed, saying something along the lines of, ‘He certainly seems knowledgeable when it comes to bras.’
In response, Mark jokingly commented, “If you’re from Tampa, you’d know it’s a breeze to handle such tasks,” further mentioning that even the tricky back fastenings seemed “easy as pie for a child.
In our ongoing conversation about bras, I felt compelled to mention that my contributions to the worldwide lingerie market might just be quite substantial. To put it into perspective, this industry generates more than $90 billion annually, and I’m proud to have played a part in its success.
She mentioned, “I often find myself thinking – due to my frequent purchases of bras, mind you, not because I wear them, but only buy them – that a particular one would transform my life. However, it usually ends up sitting untouched inside its packaging.
Kelly is seldom hesitant when it comes to talking about her self-care practices, as evidenced by her recent explanation for deciding against breast augmentation on television.
She clarified during the “Not Skinny But Not Fat” podcast in July: “I don’t have breasts.” Everyone is aware by now that I am flat-chested, so there’s no secret about it.
She confessed, “I’ve attended more breast augmentation consultations than I care to disclose. Whenever I catch wind of the ‘new breast specialist,’ I make an appointment and get a consultation.
In the end, Kelly opted out of having the surgery, humorously adding that it seems as though her phone’s algorithm is always eavesdropping on her conversations and deluges her with countless frightening tales about breast augmentation surgeries.

During a 2017 episode of Live! With Kelly, when husband Mark Consuelos joined the show, Kelly Ripa took the opportunity to voice a grievance. She said, “When we have private moments as a couple at home, he becomes rude towards me afterwards, and I don’t find that appealing. It seems strange to me. He becomes short-tempered, like annoyed.”
Though Kelly later claimed it was all in jest, Mark felt compelled to respond when he saw the story had become a trending topic. “I just wanted to clarify that no one can be rude after something if they are asleep,” he stated on air a few days later. “I sleep.”
Kelly added, “Perhaps that’s what I meant. I didn’t really mean rude. I meant completely unresponsive – like sound asleep.
Michael Consuelos, Lola Consuelos, and Joaquin Consuelos need to be cautious when browsing through social media due to their famous father, Mark Consuelos. For instance, during an episode of Riverdale in 2019, he announced he’d be managing the show’s Instagram feed, which prompted Kelly to comment enthusiastically, “Oooooooooooo. Daddy, I love when you take over.” As a result, Kelly mentioned in TopMob News interview in April 2023 that she believes her children have intentionally removed any trace of themselves from social media platforms and likely block accounts mentioning their names, just like they block their parents on these sites.
Is that a shadow or your gun in those trousers, Bruce? When Kelly shared her throwback Halloween photos from 2020 featuring Mark and friend Bruce Bozzi dressed as CHiPs officers, her husband had an interesting observation.
“Just to clarify, I think that’s definitely a shadow creating that bulge,” he commented, which prompted Kelly to inquire, “Are you seeing shadows, baby?”
Later on TopMob’s Daily Pop, Kelly didn’t shy away from addressing the topic. After host Justin Sylvester pointed out that was likely why they had been married for so long, she replied, “It’s not the only reason we’ve been together for so long, but I would say it’s one of the top three.
Without being complain-y, the constant flurry of Halloween photo-taking made Kelly adopt the practice of thoroughly checking her body before posting any family mementos.
When Justin Sylvester remarked on Instagram that Kelly had been particularly thoughtful with the images she’d shared from a November 2020 tropical vacation, the morning host playfully responded, “You don’t know how meticulous I’ve been. And boy, is it restrictive (I’m not grumbling).
The key to their long-standing marriage, spanning nearly three decades and raising three children, according to Kelly, was simply “love and intimacy” as she shared on an episode of Live! in 2021.
During his temporary role as a co-host, Mark and Kelly opened up about their unique method for handling stress while discussing the TV series titled “Scenes From a Marriage.
In a conversation, Kelly remarked that she believed Mark Consuelos would swiftly resolve any issues in his household because he’s quick to address problems. She imagined him saying something like: “I see you’re upset? I can fix that for you. I don’t feel good about this situation? Let me take care of it. Feeling overworked? I’ve got your back, I know what you need.”
Kelly continued by stating that Mark often handles situations with love and intimacy, but Mark clarified not everything is resolved in such a manner. Kelly playfully agreed that almost everything is settled between them in this way.
Mark, being an enthusiastic lover in the mornings, finds it distasteful according to Kelly, who expressed this sentiment during her July 2025 interview on the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast. In their intimate life, Kelly firmly negotiates her terms. As she put it, “Here’s the deal… There should be a balance. It can’t always be your way. It often feels like it is 90% your way, but since we work together daily now, it needs to sometimes be my way. And my way is only at night.”
Fortunately for her, their early morning work schedule on Live usually addresses this issue. Regarding the show, Kelly fondly remarked, “This job has almost managed to deter him from mornings during the work week-quite a miracle!
Mark responded to Kelly’s post of her wearing a vibrant rainbow-sequined sweater with some lively words. Referencing the message on her shirt that read “More Glitter, Less Twitter,” the actor humorously questioned, “Sweetheart, is that a ‘G’ or a ‘C’… I was just curious.
Reminiscing on her son Joaquin’s 18th birthday brought back memories of a peculiar past. When Mark shared an Instagram tribute in February 2021, saying “Our little guy is all grown up,” Kelly responded with, “Well, I must admit, it was quite enjoyable making him.” Interestingly enough, this special occasion was part of a global journey, as Mark pointed out that he was conceived during a trip to Montreal.
During a September 2022 episode of “Watch What Happens Live,” hosted by Andy Cohen, his friend was challenged to play a game called “Have You Ever Had Sex There?” The response was affirmative across various locations such as public bathrooms, boats, and even during their “All My Children” days. However, there are still some places where they haven’t (yet) engaged in an intimate moment, including riding in a car to an event, trying on clothes in a department store dressing room, or on the set of their daytime talk show. Despite the evidence from their Instagram PDA, Cohen speculated that there might be a few remaining uncharted territories.
Kelly’s preferred pose is the one that highlights her best feature. During the peak of the pandemic, when she was working in NYC for her show and he was filming Riverdale in Vancouver, they developed some unusual sexual routines, as she shared on a March 2023 episode of her Let’s Talk Off Camera podcast.
She also got quite creative. “I grew so concerned about my looks during FaceTime calls,” she admitted, “that I started propping up the computer on a ladder, this way I could look upward at Mark and he wouldn’t have to see the effects of gravity.
It seems that Kelly maintains a professional boundary between her work and personal life, as she jokingly referenced during discussions about the romance that led to Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes leaving their roles as co-hosts on ABC’s GMA3. When Mark joined her at the Live desk, Kelly playfully suggested they were abiding by network guidelines. In an interview on Watch What Happens Live in April 2023, she humorously stated that she and Mark had made a commitment to refrain from romantic involvement while working together due to ABC’s disapproval of such relationships between on-screen partners. In other words, Kelly emphasized the importance of maintaining professionalism in their work dynamic.
After their youngest child Joaquin left for college in 2021, Mark and Kelly found themselves adjusting to living in an empty nest. As Kelly explained to TopMob News in June 2023, they had grown accustomed to roaming freely around the house, leaving doors open as they pleased. However, when Lola returned from London, they suddenly needed to secure their home again. Joaquin came back for his summer break, and the couple once more had to lock up their home.
During a period when Mark and Kelly stayed in their New York apartment, the lack of privacy required them to think outside the box. “Believe it or not,” she joked, “the measures we take to maintain our freedom.
When Lola returned to live with her parents during her final college semester, she often entered their bedroom without announcing herself, a habit they found hard to change. In typical Mark fashion, he playfully teased his daughter about what to expect when she barged into their room unexpectedly on an episode of Live in January 2023.
Mark said with a grin, “Watch out Lola Conseulos! This week is going to be quite surprising, isn’t it?” Kelly joined in with a laugh, asking, “Why this week? Is this a historically surprising week?” Mark replied with a smile, “Indeed, it is now.”
The NSFW warning came about because Lola kept entering their room without knocking, prompting Mark to have a conversation with her. He said, “I wanted to make sure you didn’t misunderstand me, Lola. I’m thrilled that you’re back home. We missed you and you bring so much joy and humor into our lives. But please remember to knock before entering.
