1. In the poster, we see Lucy MacLean, nicknamed The Ghoul (real name Cooper Howard), Maximus, played by Ella Purnell, Walton Goggins, and Aaron Moten respectively. With The Ghoul’s faithful dog by their side, they are leaving behind a rundown sign for New Vegas, which was hinted at heavily in the final episode of season 1.
2. Opening Night Live at Gamescom is scheduled to take place on August 19, 2025, starting at 11:00 a.m. Pacific Time / 2:00 p.m. Eastern Time and will be hosted by Geoff Keighley, who is known for hosting The Game Awards and Summer Game Fest.
3. Fallout Season 2 is expected to air on Prime Video sometime in December, with an exact date and a teaser trailer likely to be revealed soon. Notably, the series has already been confirmed for a third season.
4. If you haven’t had a chance to watch the first season yet, it can be streamed on Prime Video or purchased on 4K Blu-Ray. The series was produced by Amazon MGM Studios, Kilter Films, and Bethesda Game Studios, and my review praised its eight episodes as one of the best video game adaptations ever made.
5. Since its release, Fallout has become one of Prime Video’s most popular shows, reaching over 100 million viewers in October 2024. The series’ success has also positively impacted the player counts and sales for all available Fallout games.
What’s in store with Fallout Season 2?
The second season of Fallout is expected to be set in New Vegas, making it intriguing to observe how they handle the complexities of canon in a world where player decisions have significantly impacted the city’s future. Since Fallout TV series is the most recent chronological event in the Fallout universe, occurring after Fallout: New Vegas and Fallout 4, there may be new conflicts arising from a power struggle among familiar factions or the emergence of previously unknown entities.
The showrunners have a challenging task on their hands, balancing continuity while maintaining the essence of the franchise. However, I’m eager to see how they tackle this complex narrative. Of course, let’s not forget the excitement of encountering some Deathclaws – formidable creatures that are an essential part of the Fallout series. Although we saw a skull in the first season, it’s about time for these beasts to terrorize the Wasteland once more.
As for speculation, there have been whispers of a Wolfenstein TV series potentially joining Prime Video’s lineup. A recent report suggested that the same creative team behind the Fallout series is involved in its production. Fingers crossed that we get confirmation soon about bringing B.J. Blazkowicz and his battles against Nazis back to our screens. Here’s hoping for a “yes” in the near future!
