New information about Brandon Blackstock’s tragic passing has come to light.
Almost two weeks following Kelly Clarkson’s ex-husband’s passing on August 7 at the age of 48, details about his health during his battle with melanoma have emerged from his death certificate. According to documents obtained by People, seizures were identified as significant contributing factors to his death, although they did not directly cause his underlying condition (melanoma).
Earlier, Silver Bow County Coroner Dan Hollis had confirmed to TopMob News that the former music manager passed away after a struggle against melanoma. The cause of his demise was determined as natural.
Brandon Blackstock sadly passed away at home in Butte, Montana, on August 7th, with hospice care and surrounded by his loved ones.
On that very day, it was confirmed by Brandon’s representative that he had passed away, having fought a prolonged battle against cancer. His children, including River Rose (11), Remington “Remy” Alexander (9), as well as Kelly and Savannah Blackstock (23 and 18 respectively), whom he shared with ex-wife Melissa Ashworth, were among those affected by his death.
In a statement to NBC News, it was shared that Brandon courageously fought against cancer for over three years. Sadly, he passed away peacefully with his loved ones by his side.
The representative went on to say, “We appreciate your sympathies and kind wishes. We kindly request that everyone respect the privacy of the family as they go through a challenging period.
Shortly after, Seth posted a touching tribute to his father.
Yesterday, I sadly said goodbye to my role model, as expressed in a post on Instagram on August 9th. My words fall short when I try to convey the immense pride I feel for the way you raised not only me but also your three other children.”
Or more informally:
“I lost my hero yesterday,” the teen posted on Instagram Aug. 9. “No words can truly express how proud of you I am, for raising me and your 3 other kids.
Seth went on to say, “Now, I’ll observe your life from a bird’s-eye perspective, which is perfectly fine by me. There isn’t anyone else in this world that I would rather have as my father because no one can be half as great to me as you were. I’ll see you every day, both at sunrise and sunset.
Melissa also acknowledged her ex-husband, whom she was married to from 1999 to 2012, on Instagram on August 8th. She wrote, “Brandon was a charmer, had a great sense of humor, and was always the epitome of a true gentleman – complete with cowboy boots, Wrangler jeans, and a cowboy hat. He was undeniably the most amazing father and grandfather anyone could ask for. He loved deeply and fought fiercely.
Mentioning Savannah’s children, Lake and Julie, along with the upcoming third child, Melissa commented, “The saying goes, ‘Nothing is truly lost if you know where it is.’ In that sense, Brandon is now with Jesus, his savior. The finest aspects of who Brandon and I were are indeed Savannah, Seth, and our grandchildren.
