Bob Harper endured a big loss after experiencing a major health crisis.
It appears that a former contestant of “The Biggest Loser” seemingly hinted at an ongoing dispute with his costar, Jillian Michaels, by suggesting that following his life-threatening heart attack in February 2017, he received sympathetic messages from numerous colleagues on the NBC reality show but surprisingly did not receive any from his fellow trainer.
In a conversation with The Guardian, published on August 14, Bob, aged 59, stated that although they weren’t particularly close friends, they had worked together for a prolonged period on a television show. He further emphasized that his costar’s lack of response carried a significant message.
The fitness expert, who trained contestants on the competition show between 2004 and 2020, stated that he wasn’t entirely caught off guard by the situation. He further explained, “It wouldn’t be unusual for Jillian Michaels to act according to her own desires.
TopMob News has reached out to Jillian’s rep for comment but has not heard back.
Right after his health incident, Bob realized that even with his active lifestyle, his survival seemed to be mainly due to good fortune.
He described having a condition often referred to as a ‘widow-maker’ during an interview with Today in April 2017. This condition carried a mere 6% chance of survival. Remarkably, the fact that there were medical professionals present at the gym when he had his heart attack was what ultimately saved his life.
Despite the character from the movie “Traitors” surviving the ordeal, he confessed that the experience led him to view his health routine differently.
Following my heart attack in 2018, I experienced a profound identity shift, trying to understand what life would look like moving forward,” he said to TopMob News. “It was incredibly challenging for the former fitness enthusiast in me to adapt to the changes that had occurred post-heart attack.
Yet, even Bob – who tied the knot with Anton Gutierrez in 2019 – discovered a sense of belonging amongst those who, like him, overcame the odds. He referred to this shared experience as “a fresh opportunity for life.
He went on to acknowledge that he’s now a member of a group – the heart attack survivors group. It’s not a club one aspires to join, but once you’re part of it, you discover there are others who’ve had similar experiences. They often seek advice and emotional support.

During an episode of Call Her Daddy in January 2025, she talked about dealing with online criticism after a series of interviews, and remarked that doctors chimed in with comments suggesting she might have Cushing syndrome due to unusual appearances. Although initially puzzled by being “trolled” by medical professionals, she realized they were pointing out potential symptoms caused by steroid injections she had received for her scars following surgeries. In March 2022, Hailey Bieber experienced a terrifying incident during breakfast with her husband, Justin Bieber. She began exhibiting symptoms similar to a stroke, causing her speech to become slurred and one side of her face to droop. Despite the temporary recovery of her speech and facial movement, Hailey sought medical attention to ensure she was alright.
Upon hospital examination, it was discovered that Hailey had suffered a small blood clot in her brain, known as a Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA). Further investigation revealed that she had a heart condition called patent foramen ovale (PFO), which allowed the blood clot to travel from her heart to her brain.
Hailey underwent a PFO closure procedure and reported feeling well after the successful treatment. On YouTube, she shared her experience, stating, “Justin asked if I was alright, but I couldn’t respond because I wasn’t sure… I couldn’t speak, and my right side of my face started drooping.
In the same year as Hailey’s health emergency, Justin Bieber also faced a similar ordeal. Specifically, in 2022, the “Baby” singer was diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt Syndrome, a condition that led to temporary facial paralysis, ultimately forcing him to postpone the rest of his Justice World Tour. Justin explained via an Instagram video that the virus attacked nerves in his ear and face, causing partial paralysis on one side of his face. He pointed out that he couldn’t blink one eye, smile on one side of his face, or move one nostril due to full paralysis on that side. The condition also made it difficult for him to eat. However, with time, the paralysis subsided. Hailey shared on Good Morning America in June 2022 that Justin was recovering well and feeling much better despite the sudden and alarming situation. She expressed her relief that he would make a full recovery.

Before I could take it, I went outside. I don’t remember being unconscious for 20 days.”

After a surgery on the same day, Foxx woke up May 4th confined to a wheelchair, unable to walk. He then traveled to Chicago for rehabilitation and therapy.

She was eventually diagnosed with a subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH), a life-threatening type of stroke caused by bleeding in the brain.
Emilia underwent immediate surgery to seal the aneurysm, but during her recovery, she experienced aphasia and began muttering nonsense. A week later, the aphasia passed, and she was discharged from the hospital after a month. However, in 2013, a growth that had been detected in a brain scan was found to have doubled in size, requiring another surgery. During this procedure, they needed to access her brain through her skull.
