In true blockbuster fashion, stepping into James Gunn’s “Superman” was an exhilarating ride! The action was heart-pounding, keeping me glued to my seat in the cinema. Superman had quite a challenge on his hands – fighting off a fire-breathing kaiju, a self-cloned rival, relentless nanites from The Engineer, and even a cunning internet troll, all orchestrated by Lex Luthor. However, it wasn’t just Superman dishing out the punches in this movie. The most stunning fight sequence didn’t even feature the Man of Steel himself! Now, you can enjoy this epic battle without breaking the bank, as it’s available to watch online!
In this film, the standout action scene involves Superman, the movie’s rising star Mister Terrific, and his romantic interest, Lois Lane. Starting this week, as the film moves from cinemas to digital platforms, you have an opportunity to stream it online at no cost. Here is the scene for your viewing pleasure:
Mr Terrific’s “Five Years Time” Fight Scene Is Gunn’s Best Work
As a movie enthusiast, I couldn’t help but be impressed by the latest sneak peek from the upcoming ‘Superman’ movie, featuring an awe-inspiring fight scene starring none other than Mr. Terrific! This thrilling clip promises a heart-pounding experience that fans won’t want to miss when it hits digital platforms tomorrow. (Courtesy of @CBR)

The fight scene showcases director Gunn at his finest. Although Superman’s films by Gunn are known for their high scores, Mister Terrific’s takedown is accompanied by the song “Five Years Time” by Noah and the Whale. This musical choice injects a delightful dose of wit as the cheerful, bright tune clashes with the violence in the scene. Moreover, most of the action is depicted from within Lois’ forcefield, offering viewers an immersive, 360-degree view of the fight, similar to Lois’ experience. Despite incorporating two elements typical of Gunn’s filmmaking style – a large-scale unconventional fight scene and an ironic song choice – the sequence remains original and highly entertaining, regardless of one’s familiarity with Gunn’s prior work.
In a lighter moment amidst the grim events unfolding, the beach fight scene offers a refreshing break from Superman’s struggle with Kryptonite poisoning in Lex’s prison. This scene is particularly somber as Metamorpho is forced to aid Lex in exposing Superman to Kryptonite, risking his own son’s life. The scene becomes even darker when Lex brutally kills an innocent man, Malik Ali, during his interrogation of Superman about his origins and identity. This fight serves to rekindle hope as Mister Terrific and Lois arrive at Fort Kramer, and foreshadows that Mister Terrific will emerge as one of Superman’s crucial allies by the end of the film.
The film titled Superman becomes available digitally on August 15th. Share with us your preferred action sequence from the movie by leaving a comment below!
