Trista Sutter, Ryan Sutter’s Kids Are in High School—And We Feel Old

Time is flying for Trista Sutter.

The first-ever star of “The Bachelorette” posted a photo of her children, Maxwell (aged 18) and Blakesley (aged 16), on their first day of high school, marking the beginning of their final and second to last years in high school with husband Ryan Sutter.

As Trista noted in the caption of her August 13 post, “It just goes too fast.”

The video compilation that followed showcased memories from various school beginnings of Maxwell and Blakesley throughout the years, accompanied by the tune of “Fast” by Luke Bryan.

For Blakesley Grace, it’s her junior year, and Maxwell Alston is wrapping up his senior year,” Trista said. “I love you both further than the moon, even to multiple trips back, all the way to infinity and beyond! I can hardly wait to see what this exciting year holds for each of you.

However, she did add, “I’m putting in a request for time to slow down.”

As a devoted follower since day one, I too find myself astonished at how far along we’ve come on Trista’s incredible journey, and it feels like only yesterday when it all began.

Wow, I can hardly believe it…I’ve been watching them grow since they were infants!” another user remarked. “It seems like just yesterday, and they were adorable back then, but they’re still charming now.

Someone else humorously remarked, drawing a comparison with Trista’s season of “The Bachelorette” from 2003, “I’m sure they’re grateful that you chose Ryan!

Approximately one and a half years ago, an update regarding their children was provided, following a perceived challenge in Trista and Ryan’s relationship journey. This was after Ryan posted something mysterious hinting at missing his spouse. However, within just two weeks, Trista reassured fans that the couple had returned to normalcy.

In May 2024, I posted on Instagram: “Goodness gracious! Can’t a woman go through some personal turbulence – be it a tough time, a separation, or even a life-altering event like a crisis or loss – without the world scrutinizing?!” The post was accompanied by a heartwarming picture of Ryan and our children on a beach.

In essence, I wanted to assure everyone that despite these challenging times, I am secure, content, and thriving. For those who may be worried about me, know that I’m doing well. As for those who choose to focus on negativity or dig too deep to find issues, I wish them the best of luck in their endeavors.

The 51-year-old shared that they encountered an opportunity for self-improvement and growth. With their family and friends’ unwavering support, they decided to prioritize themselves and personal development. They trusted that their stay-at-home mom responsibilities and their children’s end-of-school year needs were well taken care of by the most competent hands.

Ryan, too, later affirmed he and his wife were better than ever.

Occasionally, we find ourselves in perfect harmony with our surroundings,” he expressed on social media May 29. “There are instances, such as this one, where life’s beauty becomes evident – a beauty that emerges when we pause to admire the locations and the individuals they encompass, cherishing the loved ones and treasured moments within.
