Jujutsu Kaisen Reportedly Confirms Exciting Surprise Before Season 3 Update

In December 2023, it was officially confirmed that Jujutsu Kaisen will have a Season 3 following the end of Season 2. Apart from Yuji’s visual which was revealed at Jump Festa in 2025, not much has been disclosed about Season 3 so far. However, with the series approaching its 5th anniversary on August 31st, there are five major updates planned, some of which may pertain to Season 3. Instead of focusing primarily on Season 3, a significant portion of 2024 and early 2025 was dedicated to marketing the compilation film, Jujutsu Kaisen: Hidden Inventory/Premature Death – The Movie. The movie premiered in Japan on May 30th, 2025, and had its U.S. debut in theatres on July 16th, 2025.

As an enthusiastic spectator, I’m thrilled to share that the upcoming compilation film offers more than just a reprise of our beloved backstory. It delves deeper, providing fresh and unique scenes that offer intriguing insights into Saturo Gojo and Suguru Geto’s past, along with Shoko Ieri, their fellow student at Jujutsu High.

One of the most revered arcs, Hidden Inventory, is currently being transformed into a thrilling fourth stage play. This production is set to captivate audiences in Tokyo from August 22-31, 2025, and then move on to Osaka from September 5-7, 2025.

The news of the manga creator, Gege Akutami, sketching a special promo highlighting Gojo and Geto, the arc’s main duo, is indeed exciting. This information originates from a trusted source, @Go_Jover on X, which is a reliable beacon for fans of Jujutsu Kaisen.

What to Expect From Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3

From my perspective, the captivating Season 2 finale of Jujutsu Kaisen left me on the edge of my seat as Yuta Okkotsu, following the devastating Shibuya Incident, vowed retribution against Yuji Itadori for his role in Toge Inumaki’s severe injury and loss of a hand. The Shibuya Incident claimed many lives, and even the Jujutsu society suffered numerous misfortunes post-death of Nanami Kento and Gojo being locked away within the Prison Realm. With Gojo out of the picture, the upper echelons now have an unmissable chance to dispose of Sukuna’s vessel – a thorn in their side since its inception.

The third season is referred to as “The Culling Game,” however, it cannot move forward without incorporating Itadori’s Extermination and Perfect Preparation Arcs. These arcs significantly delve into the harsh consequences following the Shibuya Incident, which includes a power shift after Gojo’s disappearance. Moreover, Kenjaku’s exit from Shibuya with the Prison Realm suggests a significant future plot point. The Culling Game is essentially a battle royale featuring several sorcerers connected to Jujutsu High in Tokyo, newly awakened sorcerers, and ancient sorcerers that have been reborn, all of whom are expected to engage in combat under Kenjaku’s control. Most participants will find themselves compelled to obey his commands.

In addition to combating formidable adversaries, Gojo’s students will also be tasked with rescuing their teacher. The Culling Game serves as the penultimate story arc in the manga, leading up to the grand finale against Ryomen Sukuna, also known as the King of Curses, where the main narrative will concentrate on the final confrontation.
