Four more actors have joined the cast of the Harry Potter HBO show.
The new Harry Potter television series produced by Warner Bros. Television and HBO is now being filmed. Dominic McLaughlin has been cast in the lead role, while Alastair Stout portrays Ron Weasley and Arabella Stanton takes on Hermione Granger. Additional characters are also set to appear.
Who has joined the cast of the Harry Potter HBO Max show?
On Instagram, it was announced by the official HBO Max account that four new actors have been officially selected to portray Ron Weasley’s siblings.
The Burrow is almost at capacity, but we’re excited to announce several new additions to our cast for the HBO Original Series ‘Harry Potter’. Joining Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley, we welcome Tristan Harland as Fred Weasley, Gabriel Harland as George Weasley, Ruari Spooner as Percy Weasley, and Gracie Cochrane as Ginny Weasley. Charlie is currently in Romania but will be joining us shortly.
Tristan and Gabriel Harland, in the past, were part of the BBC Two/Netflix historical drama series The Kingdom. Meanwhile, Spooner acted in a short film titled Syncopation in 2024, while Cochrane featured in a minor role in Steve McQueen’s 2024 Blitz movie alongside Saoirse Ronan.
The ensemble for the Harry Potter series on HBO features John Lithgow portraying Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu stepping into Severus Snape’s shoes, Nick Frost playing Rubeus Hagrid, Luke Thallon bringing Quirinus Quirrell to life, Paul Whitehouse as Argus Filch, Bertie Carvel in the role of Cornelius Fudge, Lox Pratt as Draco Malfoy, Johnny Flynn portraying Lucius Malfoy, Bel Powley as Petunia Dursley, Daniel Rigby in the part of Vernon Dursley, Katherine Parkinson playing Molly Weasley, Leo Earley as Seamum Finnigan, Alessia Leoni as Parvati Patil, Sienna Moosah embodying Lavender Brown, Rory Wilmot taking on Neville Longbottom, Amos Kitson as Dudley Dursley, Louise Brealey as Madam Hooch, and Anton Lesser assuming the character of Garrick Ollivander.
In this paraphrased version, each actor’s name is followed by their character they will be playing in the series. This way, it is easier to understand who plays whom without having to memorize all the names at once.
In my perspective, I’m eagerly waiting to find out when the debut of the first season of the Harry Potter series will air on HBO Max. While there hasn’t been an official announcement, rumors suggest that we might be able to enjoy it sometime in the year 2027.
