Austin Butler recently experienced a medical nightmare.
During the filming of “The Bikeriders” in 2023, the actor portraying Elvis experienced a startling awakening mid-flight due to an intense migraine that caused him temporary loss of sight.
As Austin stated in Men’s Health’s September/October issue, he experienced temporary blindness for several minutes. However, he willed his vision back and it gradually came back to him. The 31-year-old, who flaunted his impressive abs in the magazine, didn’t seem to ponder much about the incident. He returned to work the following day, attributing his temporary loss of sight to sleep deprivation.
However, Austin mentioned that it wasn’t only his vision deteriorating; after wrapping the Oscar-nominated film Elvis, he experienced severe, appendicitis-like pain upon waking and was subsequently hospitalized.
Not only did the “Masters of Air” alum face hospitalization and blindness, but during promotions for “Dune: Part Two,” he also endured an unexpected and agonizing foot pain. To cope with additional discomfort, he walked with his toes curled for eight months. The cause? A tiny shard of glass, as Austin revealed, was comparable in size to a grain of rice.
Fortunately, Austin discovered that easing up on self-pressure concerning his work enhanced his health, and he managed to achieve this, in part, through the guidance of Laura Dern.
Upon meeting her for the first time, he shared that it was as if the room fell silent, and there was a profound spiritual connection between them. Essentially, they felt a deep kinship.

The actress from Jurassic Park, who he mentioned had a likeness to his late mother Lori Butler (who passed away due to cancer in 2014), imparted wisdom to Austin that playing complex or dark roles should not significantly impact the rest of his life.
He mentioned that she’s assisting him in realizing there is light at the end of the tunnel, and perhaps some parts of him have mended, merged, and transformed. This process can be healing, in essence.
As a result, applying this change has proven transformative for Austin, especially after his separation from Kaia Gerber, as he now relishes his off-set moments without worrying that they will negatively impact his performance.
As he explained, “You don’t have to destroy the light.”

As a die-hard admirer, I couldn’t help but share the news that, during our jaw-dropping wrestling match in July 2025 against the formidable Piper Niven, I experienced an unanticipated shift in one of my beloved breast implants. It was quite the unexpected turn of events!
At that moment, she reassured her sister Bella Garcia, “Everything is fine.” She added, “We’ll deal with it eventually. When I’m done adjusting after my divorce, I’ll return to the doctor and together we’ll make these girls look fantastic. Remember, these girls are going to have their time in the spotlight soon, and they shouldn’t appear that way.
In 2014, the actress who played a key role in “12 Years a Slave” was diagnosed with uterine fibroids – these are benign growths that can appear within or near the womb. Remarkably, this diagnosis came during the same year she won an Oscar for her outstanding performance in that movie.
It wasn’t until the year 2025 that she publicly shared her diagnosis on Instagram, revealing that she had quietly endured it for over a decade.
She stated that during puberty, many women are led to believe that periods come with pain, which is just considered an inherent aspect of female life. However, she pointed out that this pain is often endured individually, as it significantly impacts our daily lives.
By July 2025, it was revealed that the Daisy Jones & The Six band member had been admitted to the hospital due to a hernia, which is a tear or weakness in the muscle wall often located in the abdomen or groin region, resulting from prolonged wear of restrictive trousers.
She wrote on X, the platform previously known as Twitter, “You don’t post on Twitter anymore,” she noted. “Perhaps there’s something you haven’t told me yet – about six months ago, my pants were so tight they gave me a hernia, and I’ve been too timid to share that with you.
In April 2025, a former cast member of “Beverly Hills, 90210” shared that he was on the road to recovery following an appendix surgery, which had almost ruptured.
A week ago, Brian mentioned in an Instagram video that he began experiencing discomfort in his abdomen. Eventually, this led him to visit the emergency room where it was discovered that he had an appendix with a small hole, not yet fully ruptured.
He added, “I’m on the road to recovery. It’s not an easy process. This is my first major surgery.”

In a 2025 episode of the In Depth With Graham Bensinger podcast, Devine expressed that it’s been a harrowing experience for him. He explained that he has frequent muscle spasms throughout his body. Doctors had given him a grim prognosis in the past year, stating that he was near death.

He expressed, during a March 2025 episode of his Trading Secrets podcast, that his legs from knees to toes were still sensationally tingling, which seemed extraordinary. To give some context, he mentioned humbly, without wanting to sound arrogant, that approximately two to four weeks ago, he might have been squatting around 295 pounds. At present, however, he’s unable to do a squat on one foot; in fact, he can’t even manage a one-legged squat without falling over. It’s as if he’d experienced a stroke or something similar.
But with the help of a back specialist and some steroids, he added, “We’re on the mend.”

In February 2025, an actress from the show ‘Even Stevens’ revealed that she had been accidentally shot in the face during a trip to shoot clay pigeons as part of her husband Brendan Rooney’s birthday celebration.
She posted on Instagram that there was another group present who accidentally discharged their firearm in a hazardous manner and struck her in the face. Instantly, @thebrendanrooney took charge, examined me, and hastily transported me to the hospital. I was wounded in five spots, with one bullet barely missing my right eye by less than an inch.
The former star of “Kim Possible” added, “Regrettably, a piece became stuck near my eye, and it’s currently not safe to remove it surgically. My doctors are keeping a close watch on me, and fortunately, I can see clearly for now.
The actress expressed her heartfelt gratitude for being alive. She shared her deep affection for her daughters, husband, family, and friends, stating that she values them immensely. Recounting a moment when she thought she might die, she emphasized the importance of cherishing those close to us. Whenever possible, she urged everyone to give loved ones a warm embrace, as life’s circumstances can change swiftly and unpredictably.
Basking in the love from fellow fans, Amy Schumer here! You know, the internet can sometimes be a harsh place, but in this instance, it worked wonders for me. After a series of interviews, my face attracted some attention – not exactly the kind I was hoping for. But then came the chorus of concerned voices, and they turned out to be doctors offering insights from their comments section!
At first, I was taken aback, thinking I was getting roasted by medical professionals. They suggested Cushing syndrome might be the culprit, possibly caused by elevated cortisol levels or steroid injections. It then dawned on me – I’d been getting those steroid shots to help heal my scars after procedures like a breast reduction and C-section.
Lo and behold, it seems that these treatments had given me Cushing syndrome! If it wasn’t for the internet scrutiny, I wouldn’t have known. It’s safe to say that the online community saved the day in this case.
Fast forward to a News Not Noise newsletter in February 2024, and I’m overjoyed to report that my diagnosis turned out to be benign Cushing syndrome, one that would heal on its own. And trust me, receiving such fantastic news was absolutely euphoric!

In March 2022, Hailey Bieber, the skincare mogul behind Rhode, experienced a terrifying incident during breakfast with her husband Justin Bieber. She suddenly encountered symptoms similar to a stroke, which left her unable to respond or speak properly, and her face drooped on one side. Despite the symptoms subsiding, she sought medical attention to ensure her health was not at risk.
Doctors discovered that Hailey had suffered a small blood clot in her brain, classified as a Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA). Further examination revealed that she had a hole in her heart called patent foramen ovale (PFO). It was determined that the blood clot had traveled into her heart, escaped through the PFO, and reached her brain, causing the TIA.
Hailey underwent a successful procedure to close the PFO and reported feeling wonderful afterwards. Justin had expressed concern during the incident, asking if she was okay, but Hailey did not initially respond due to her uncertainty about her condition.
The same year Hailey encountered a health issue, Justin also faced a diagnosis of his own – Ramsay Hunt syndrome. This rare condition led to temporary paralysis in parts of Justin’s face, which caused him to cancel the rest of his Justice World Tour. In an Instagram video, he explained that this virus affected the nerve in his ear and facial nerves, resulting in full paralysis on one side of his face. He mentioned difficulties eating due to the condition, but eventually recovered. Hailey shared on Good Morning America that Justin is now doing well and is feeling much better after a scary and unexpected situation, assuring everyone that he will be fully okay.
Jamie Foxx, who had initially kept quiet about his April 2023 hospitalization, later shared details of his ordeal in his 2024 Netflix special titled “What Had Happened Was…”. In Atlanta, he recalled having a severe headache and asking for an aspirin, but before he could get one, he passed out and lost consciousness for 20 days.
Initially, Foxx was treated by a doctor who administered a cortisone shot and sent him home. However, his sister Deidra Dixon became concerned and drove him to the hospital where they discovered the cause: He had a brain hemorrhage that resulted in a stroke.
After undergoing surgery on the 20th day of his hospitalization, Foxx woke up on May 4 in a wheelchair and was unable to walk. He then travelled to Chicago for rehabilitation and therapy.
“All I can say is that I appreciate every prayer,” he said, “because I needed every prayer.
In a shocking turn of events, the television personality disclosed that she momentarily stopped breathing during a mile run on the inaugural contest of the NBC show’s series.
During an interview on ‘Fit for TV: The Reality of The Biggest Loser,’ she shared that she can’t recall much. However, she does remember the sound of a helicopter, feeling as if she was floating, seeing her grandpa, and then experiencing darkness. But there was also light, which made her believe that she had died on that day.
She went on to explain that her bodily functions were failing, a condition she later discovered was rhabdomyolysis. Essentially, this means her body was signaling severe distress and impending failure.
In 2019, Emilia Clarke, who is famous for her role in Game of Thrones, published an essay titled “A Battle for My Life” in The New Yorker. This essay detailed a personal battle she faced off-screen when, during a gym session, she experienced severe headaches that led to vomiting and eventual hospitalization.
The medical diagnosis was a subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH), a life-threatening type of stroke caused by bleeding in the brain. Emilia had undergone immediate surgery to seal the aneurysm, but the pain she endured during this process was described as unbearable.
In her recovery, Emilia experienced aphasia, a condition characterized by difficulty understanding or producing language, which made her speak nonsensical words. However, after a week, the aphasia passed, and she was discharged from the hospital a month later.
Two years earlier, during a routine brain scan in 2013, Emilia discovered a growth that had doubled in size. This meant she needed another surgery to access her brain through her skull. Thankfully, she shared that she is now fully recovered and at 100%.
Snoop Dogg‘s daughter, Cori Broadus, expresses her gratitude towards her family.
This is because they were there for her immediately after she experienced a “severe stroke” in January 2024. Cori shared the news with a TopMob News correspondent, Will Marfuggi, in December 2024, sending him a text and picture. “Everyone came to my aid as soon as I told them about the stroke,” she said.
As she had additional medical issues, Cori ended up staying in the hospital for a longer period than anticipated.
“I could have been discharged after the stroke, but my lupus wasn’t doing well at the time,” continued the star of Snoop’s Fatherhood: Cori and Wayne’s Story. “My kidneys were failing. There was a lot happening.”
Today, Cori is recovering.
“I am doing well,” she added. “I just needed to work on regaining some motor skills, but otherwise I was okay.
During her twenties, Shailene Woodley experienced considerable health struggles. The actress revealed on the September 2024 episode of the SHE MD Podcast that she faced issues such as loss of hearing, inability to walk for extended periods without needing rest, and digestive problems. She was given various conflicting diagnoses by different doctors throughout this time.
Determined to find answers, Shailene-who has a background in holistic medicine and herbalism-decided to collaborate with both conventional medical professionals (MDs) and independent healers. This quest for healing took ten years.
During this decade-long journey, the Big Little Lies star faced additional challenges related to her mental health, as her physical discomfort led to fear of food, body dysmorphia, confusion about identity, and feelings of insecurity within herself.
Fortunately, after focusing on both her physical and mental well-being, Shailene is now feeling much improved. She shared that her health issues eventually resolved themselves, and she’s happy to report that she’s currently in good health.
